Aleksander Ceferin, the UEFA president, said he would “lead by example” and not stand more than three terms to set a good example. Now that third term is coming to an end, guess what? Aleksander Ceferin is standing four a fourth term at the same time he has called for better governance at FIFA. 😵‍💫

Yet again blocked someone for replying saying Traitors is not good. What is the point? Clearly I like it, it’s just rude to reply saying you don’t like it. It isn’t conversation. Please don’t do this. If you’re not interested or it’s not to your liking, ignore it. Read the next post in your feed.

One thing I find endlessly funny about the rise of AI is that it has revealed that there is a large number of people who believe that the reason they wrote essays at school or university is their teachers were desperately waiting for them to provide a definite answer to “Lear: what’s up with him?”

I agree! I keep conveying this reasonable advice to the fascists, but they keep assaulting the people having lunch, setting fire to the café, starting a pogrom, slashing lifeboats in the sea, attacking non-white people in the streets , etc. For this failure to cure ideological bias, I blame the left

And culturally, the Muscovite-led Empire made deliberate attempts to be European, especially under Peter the Great. It's a European country. (And an Asian one, but it's definitely a European one.)

I am glad that community clubs can be reformed after bankruptcy/terrible ownership, but... 1) can we drop the convention of putting "(A)FC" before the name - it's soooo 2000s, dahlink 2) can we/the FA drop the pretence and allow them to simply take the old team's name? We know what they are.

how convenient would it be to be the kind of person whose worldview is that most grievances are made up, and then to have the chance to develop technology that floods the zone and makes it impossible for real grievances to be heard

Very happy for these services to be taken back into private ownership and/or far more democratic oversight. Not so happy with "government gets to choose which laws it follows".

Replies to this suggest our only options are "the illegal seizure of private property" or "having no consequences or oversight whatsoever for the water companies"...

Some are doing the below. Yes, no doubt the big clubs voted for FFP <insert percentage here> in self interest. But there was, and still is, obviously a massive problem of professional football clubs spending money they don't have that will destroy community assets. bsky.app/profile/mill...

I do wonder the degree to which people still believe that FFP was *only* about protecting the biggest clubs. Which for those of us that remember the amount of administrations in the 90s-00s is plain silly. But... these are now the rules. And City willfully broke them and covered it up.
