4/ Fernando Vasquez, an 18-year-old citizen, was on break from work when agents chased and handcuffed him, then put him in their truck. After realizing their mistake, the agents left the teen alone in the woods, with no way to get home. Then they threw his ID out of the truck.

Using phone calls, travel movements and location data, Der Spiegel has traced the recent drone attack on a German airport back to the elite SSD unit of the Russian military intelligence service GRU. When are the authorities going to start saying we’re at war and have been for a long time?

Is your software a “product”? If not — and it harms you in some way — you may not be able to claim compensation. That needs to change, the government’s law reform advisers suggest. And product liability law might be extended to online marketplaces like Amazon. rozenberg.substack.com/p/consumer-p...

I think this is often driven by media class overcompensation for fear of metropolitan bias: a lack of proper engagement across geography, social class lines leads to a weird caricature of public opinion, as if the radicalised online group must be speaking up for authentic public opinion

Nor is it the case that public attitudes) become more unsettled recently. Generational shiftbigger. 1 in 5 doubted this in 2010 and 1 in 10 in 2020s. (There was a generation gap in 2010, but older people adapted to the prevailing norm). This is media/politics amplification of online radicalisation

Mike Jones @mikepjones1.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
I have had my child contemplate suicide in response to my failings as a parent. Apologising for that hasn’t magically made everything ok. But it has helped. Sometimes it’s not what you *do*, it’s what you do *next*. I’m sorry you’ve had to go through all this. I hope you find what you need.

…and that learning to do better in itself comes from learning self-compassion and self-forgiveness. Self-judgement hurts you, but it doesn’t make anything better for anyone else. We have all failed We have all let people down All of us at some point have felt guilt or shame or both
110
Mike Jones @mikepjones1.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
The thing about guilt is that once you have clarity about what you regret and wish you’d done differently, it becomes possible to recognise that you did the absolute best that you were capable of *in each moment*. And that you best honour those you’ve wronged by learning to do better…

Mike Jones @mikepjones1.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
At the risk of saying the obvious: Where you can make reparations, that can be a good thing to do Either way, taking responsibility can help, & apologising, if the other person is alive and willing to be in contact with you After that, there is only the long journey of self-forgiveness
