Despite heroic efforts by a small cadre of people in the field, the vast majority of senior PIs in clinical psychology continue to be uninterested or hostile to OS practices. It makes me think they just don't care, and it's really depressing.

Here's a specific reason how this weakens basic research. NIH explicitly encouraged basic research. But if you mention clinical intervention in your grant, it's fair game for reviewers to critique how your proposal applies to intervention, . Even if your grant really has nothing to do with it.

Philosophical implications of quantum mechanics - Feynman puts the uncertainty principle into perspective for me. In science generally, making an observation (e.g., self-report survey) affects the phenomenon (e.g., person’s thoughts, behavior, emotion). This is not unique to the social sciences
