I just accidentally-ed into a short video I think I'll try to do in October. I really wanna talk about how while The Ribbon Hero is a bit of a mess, it's perfectly in the spirit of Tezuka's works.

I have discovered that conventional horror games don't scare me, I just get pissed that I die. I realized the skin stealers in Backrooms Escape Together are scared of light. So I chased them around with a flashlight. Then I died due to sanity loss. I am upsetty.

We are 10 #seinen OVAs into our 90s seinen OVA watch-a-ganza. So far, we've seen one ironically good one, one unironically good one, and one with the twin towers featured in the background (no, it wasn't Cipher). For a quality OVA, I recommend checking out 1990s Nineteen.

Nineteen

19-year-old Kubota is ready to find a girlfriend. The perfect chance arises when he meets Masana Fujisaka, his first love, in a club. She's just broken up with her longtime boyfriend and is surprised ...

i read all of cipher & i need people to know that the world trade center is thematically important, to the degree that the male leads are compared to and referred to as "the twin towers" frequently. one of them goes to california and sees two palm trees and calls them "the twin towers of california"

Here is another reminder to scream into the void that AI should not be used for research. I was checking the exact phrasing of a famous Rod Serling quote (not looking for AI results, but was curious about this bonkers incorrect take), and Google's AI search attributed it to Carl Sagan.

A search typed into Google's AI "search" feature. "A martian can say things that a Republican or Democrat can't"

With Google's AI saying this was said by Carl Sagan. Rod Serling said it.

As promised, here is my attempt at the grid! All those OVAs I watched came in clutch! I was missing 15 total across each grid- and unfortunately couldn't fill out any one grid entirely. This was fun! Thank you for putting it together 😊

A challenge grid of Shounen anime.

Anime from left to right are: Shadow Skill, Barefoot Gen, Queen Emeraldes, Naruto, Inuyasha, Chrono Crusade, Aria the Animation, Attack on Titan, A Silent Voice, Deadman Wonderland, Summertime Rendering, Frieren, Hell's Paradise, Kaiju No 8

A challenge grid of Seinen anime.

Anime from left to right are: Arcadia of my Youth, Nineteen, Be-Bop Highschool, Alita Battle Angel, Black Lagoon, Elfen Lied, King of Thorn, Land of the Lustrous, Wandering Son, In this Corner of the World, Arpeggio of Blue Steel, Dungeon Meshi, My Dress Up Darling, and Shadows House (really pushing it with this one)

A challenge grid of Shoujo anime.

Anime from left to right are: Magic Knight Rayearth, Whisper of the Heart, Edo Never Sleeps, They Were Eleven, Yona of the Dawn, Orange, From Up on Poppy Hill, Sailor Moon Crystal, The Rose of Versailles, Ooku.

A challenge grid of Josei anime.

Anime from left to right are: Petshop of Horrors (pushing it, but there's no other option), Rougr: Lady's Comic Video, Only Yesterday, Kiniro no Corda: Primo Passo - Hitonatsu no Encore, Juuza Engi, Princess Jellyfish, Uta Koi, Karneval, Cocoon

And there it is. JK Rowling personally and publicly offering to bankroll litigation against Amnesty International using her massive wealth.

A screenshot of a social media thread on X (formerly Twitter) featuring two posts by J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling).
The first post reads: 'Should any of the women's organisations targeted by @AmnestyUK's recent 'anti-rights' blacklist wish to take legal action, applications can be made to the JK Rowling Women's Fund. jkrwf.org'.
This first post includes a quote post from the account Trans Widows’ Voices. (@transwidows) that says: 'Whilst I understand the detriment to Beira's Place is real, and focussing on @jk_rowling get clicks it's a shame that mainstream press coverage of the Amnesty debacle is not also focussing on us smaller groups listed who do ...'
The second post, a reply in the thread by J.K. Rowling, reads: 'Gay men's organisations named on the list are welcome to contact me through my website. While the JK Rowling's Fund was set up to support women, JK Rowling herself is more than happy to donate to your legal fighting fund.'"

The fact that J.K. Rowling successfully bullied Amnesty International into taking down a report that accurately called out her attack on trans people, especially trans women, is so repulsive and such a display of the power of her money, and her choice to put her vast fortune behind persecution.
