The time and energy we have to put into fighting these over-diagnosis scare stories is time and energy we should be putting into talking about the scale of under-diagnosis.

The Dems are doing exactly what Labour did before they were elected. One by one a few stick their head up with some anti trans nonsense and the leadership say nothing because they don't want to rock the boat. Their supporters tell you not to worry, it will be fine when they are elected...

i'd recommend people read the response from an LGBTQ+ cancer charity to last year's EHRC proposed guidance - been thinking a lot about this particular section ever since i first read it (full response here outpatients.org.uk/2025/06/26/e...)
Screenshot of article reading:
"The suggestion that transgender people should only be accommodated in side rooms is unfeasible. As anyone in healthcare knows, available side rooms are a rare commodity. If their use was mandated for all transgender patients it would largely be unenforceable. It is necessary to consider the broad variety of people who require side rooms and their availability across the NHS. As per NHS Estates documents, increased floor area, capital cost, management, and staffing issues also need to be considered. If a redrafted single-sex accommodation policy aligns with the EHRC’s Code of Practice, we feel that it could leave transgender people without reliable accommodation options, putting their clinical outcomes at risk."Quote from article
'“Let us take the example of Joelle, a trans woman who died of an eminently treatable cancer after waiting for eight days on a general ward, because clinicians could not agree whether she should be placed on a men’s ward or a women’s ward. The delay in treatment cost her her life.”

-Dr Roz Savage, MP'

From what she had said here there is no reason now for clubs like WI and girl guides to state plainly they are trans inclusive and therefore facilities are inclusive and anyone joining accepts this or is free to not join.

Causeway Pride @causewaypride.bsky.social · 03/02/2026
Our 2026 fundraiser is live gofund.me/907cb930b
Causeway Pride is entering its 4th year and in a time when LGBTQIA+ rights are under renewed attack, our very existence is an act of resistance.

We are a small Pride on the north coast, but we are unapologetically political. We are here to honour Mark Ashton’s legacy...

Solidarity and standing with our community no matter the cost.

We are here to make the Causeway Coast (and one day all of Northern Ireland) a place where everyone belongs. And we are here to fight back against politicians who have failed us, abandoned us, and continue to side with those who want to erase us.

Let’s be clear: LGBTQIA+ rights were never handed to us.
They were fought for.
They are still being fought for.
And we refuse to let them be taken quietlyEvery Causeway Pride event is free deliberately. Pride is not a product. Our community is not a marketing opportunity. Rainbow capitalism might thrive elsewhere, but it will never define Pride on the Causeway Coast.

But resistance has a cost.

As we grow, so do the practical realities: a longer parade route, accessible and powerful sound systems, stewarding, safety, and the ability to organise radical, community-focused events beyond a single day in the calendar.

Our ethics are non-negotiable. We do not accept funding from corporations, the local council, or anything linked to fossil fuels. That choice is ours and we stand by it. Our Pride is accountable to the community, not to profit or PR.
In previous years, Causeway Pride has been built by:
• committee members funding it from our own pockets
• trade unions showing real solidarity
• members of the public who believe in queer liberation
• and a proudly queer-supporting pub

Now, as we build Causeway Pride 2026, we’re asking for solidarity once again.

If you can donate, you are directly supporting a Pride that is community-led, anti-corporate, and rooted in collective resistance. You are helping us take up space, make noise, and remind everyone that we are not going anywhere.

We are
STILL HERE.
STILL PROUD.

"It only affects a few people" shouldn't be countered w/ "That's just 'first they came for' thinking." Yes, discrimination against a few is always an opening of the door for discrimination against more. BUT discrimination against a few matters in & of itself, b/c those few people are PEOPLE.

I don't think it's a good idea to legally privilege someone else's discomfort over another person's rights.
13.147 A legitimate aim for excluding a trans person from a separate or single-sex service for their own sex might be to prevent discomfort or distress for other service users.

The reason Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt get treated as heroes but any woman - cis or trans! - who's too good at sports gets subjected to degrading and dehumanizing "tests" of her gender is extremely simple, It has zero to do with fairness and everything to do with upholding male supremacy

Grounded in NeuroHub Community Ltd’s six-point framework, it centres learning and partnership, inviting readers to honour authentic Autistic needs, identities, and ways of being through relationships and environments, rather than attempting to fix or change individuals. With dedicated sections for carers, family members, Autistic young people (8+), and Autistic adults, the book can be read as a standalone resource or used alongside the on-demand course for a deeper, more practical exploration of working together, building shared understanding, and supporting Autistic people to thrive in everyday life.
