An evergreen Black Friday/Holiday shopping tip 😉

From Clay Sanger

Reverse #Black Friday idea go pick an author you know or follow someone who isn't a chart topper on every bestsellers list — and snag one of their books today. Toss a coin to your Witcher and whatnot. Make their day. Put some feathered dinosaur on their table.

You can check out some of the past contests on our website, if you like! We do a free weekly contest that currently has a $25 prize (from a sponsor). Basically, we have a bunch of different prompts that you spin like a slot machine until you get inspired.

It really warms my heart to see how active the writing community has become on here in my absence. It feels like home again.

Back when X was twitter, me and the marvellous @chrismould.bsky.social had a no-pressure, everyone-welcome sketchbook club called #doodleish We’re new here, but is anyone up for it? We share fun prompts twice a week (no skill needed!) #sketchbook #artchallenge #illustration

Doodles page reads; every year over one hundred and fifteen million tonnes of blank paper is produced. That’s the weight of 1000 humpback whales or (if it helps you picture it) 197897 Russell-Hobbes 2 slice toasters EVERY DAY.the annual volume is over ninety six million cubic meters or 6.4 trillion tablespoons- and it JUST KEEPS COMING. Join us in the battle against the blank page. Take up your pen and do your bit to conquer the relentless swarm of empty paper - one notebook, scrapbook and sketchbook at a time! Down with empty pages!

Awesome page of skull and skeleton doodles shamelessly stolen from Chris’s twitter feed
