#Doodleish no:9  'Negative space'.   🧵A compositional task that focuses on empty space around your image to enhance its effect. E.G: emphasizing a large empty room or as the example, a large open empty outdoor space. Have a go. It can be anything. Over to @jennispangler.bsky.social

Doodleish season 2 Prompt: 5 I've always loved illustrated envelopes so I thought we could have a go. You can use an actual envelope if you like. I've drawn mine on the page. Have fun. 'Send it/them' to whoever you want... @jennispangler.bsky.social will respond as always...

On the way back from my writing conference, #doodleish prompt 2 with my TWSBI Swipe fountain pen, a highlighter and a bit of pencil for the layout. Ink is Diamine Ancient Copper. Interesting thinking about books that influenced me in context of all the writing workshops I just finished.

It is drawn in a red-orange ink with yellow accents. The same spread as before this time showing the entire notebook with three pens placed down on the facing page.

#doodleish prompt 4: All the children’s books last week made me nostalgic, so let’s go back to basics with our ABCs! Instead of A is for apple, B is for ball, create your own alphabet chart with any theme. I’ve done a gothic ABC (of course…) What’ve you got @chrismouldink?
A sketchbook page with a gothic version of an ABC chart - A is for arsenic, B is for betrayal, and so on!

Jenni's version of today's doodleish prompt. I love that she's in an old pottery factory and I'm in an old carpet factory. P.S. You don't need to draw an old factory.

Back when X was twitter, me and the marvellous @chrismould.bsky.social had a no-pressure, everyone-welcome sketchbook club called #doodleish We’re new here, but is anyone up for it? We share fun prompts twice a week (no skill needed!) #sketchbook #artchallenge #illustration
Doodles page reads; every year over one hundred and fifteen million tonnes of blank paper is produced. That’s the weight of 1000 humpback whales or (if it helps you picture it) 197897 Russell-Hobbes 2 slice toasters EVERY DAY.the annual volume is over ninety six million cubic meters or 6.4 trillion tablespoons- and it JUST KEEPS COMING. Join us in the battle against the blank page. Take up your pen and do your bit to conquer the relentless swarm of empty paper - one notebook, scrapbook and sketchbook at a time! Down with empty pages!Awesome page of skull and skeleton doodles shamelessly stolen from Chris’s twitter feed
