A screenshot of the Cacodemon from the game DOOM with an xBRZ filter applied and the colors blown out. The filename is "Cacodemonio.webp", which is just Cacodemon in Spanish.

They've kind of grown on me at this point but yeah, they are super slow. Love the Werehog stages, though. Maybe even more than the non-Sonic levels in the Adventure games 👀

At the same time going back to the originals I am surprised to discover now the Star Fox crew has always been a little ragtag, I think it was just a lot less in your face, and also I think the English translation prob didn't help a lot as was typical for the time.

I had to stay up late last night to play two runs in between everything going on but it defo feels they're aware (most of) the original 64 audience has fully developed brains now and they added the right amount of flavor text, and in the perfect direction too

my gf and i have an inside joke that whenever a yter talks about the new star fox, they have to start their video with "nintendo has decides to remake star fox 64 [long pause] Again."

The Berlin Wall has appeared a surprising amount of times in the Mario series, being featured in four games and one ad campaign.

Berlin Wall in Mario's Time Machine (NES)
Berlin Wall in Mario is Missing (Macintosh)
Berlin Wall as seen in Mario Kart Tour and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Booster Course Pass)

...though I honestly only clapped because the rest of the theater was clapping during the credits. I don't clap at the cinemas otherwise lol. We watched it on Sunday and yeah it was wild.

... yea I couldn't help myself, here's a remake of the first one that's a little more clever lol

3D render in the style of a print ad for the Nintendo 64. It depicts Metal Mario lifting a Thwomp.

Headlining text reads: "WORTH THE WEIGHT"

Body text reads: "64-bit of raw gaming prowess doesn't come easy. If you know what's good for you, you'll think twice before being swindled by phoneys and has-beens. SEPT. 1996 - CHANGE THE SYSTEM"
