The Project is supported by Edinburgh City Council, which no longer arrange regular leaf clearing of all the streets. They provides bags, brushes and shovels and also collect the bags of leaves for disposal.

What’s involved? An online interview lasting about 45 minutes, where I’ll ask you about your experiences.

Cycle Hangar Update: The TRO process has concluded, and the hangars will be installed by the end of the financial year (March 2027). Spaces will be offered to residents who have requested hangars in these locations, then to people on waitlists for existing nearby hangars before going to the public.

Harrison road will finally reopen in Dec... This was an opportunity for CEC to rethink traffic flows through the wider area around Harrison Park and Polwarth. Now it's back to business as usual (with a 7.5 tonne weight restriction).

🪴This is a small step towards major regeneration of the Polwarth Junction, which will vastly improve the experience and safety of people walking, wheeling and cycling. This area will finally be a place where people can enjoy walking to the shops, and lingering for a chat with neighbours!

💯 support the parents here. It’s been longer than a decade. I was the first parent council chair in 2007 when my oldest son was in P1 (he’s 24 now) and the campaign was already 2 years old at that stage. The speed at which some vehicles pass the school is appalling. Safety measures long overdue

🤔 We asked CEC, they said: Due to the number of hangars and spaces across the city, it is not possible for either Grease Monkey or the Council to monitor usage. If the subscription for a space is being paid for then is it considered occupied, and there is no requirement for it to be regularly used.

Secure on-street cycle storage is vital for tenement-dwellers. Some of our residents have been on waiting lists for over 6 years. Provision in our area is very limited. We welcome the 20 new cycle hangars which will be installed in the next 2 years, but they will simply not be enough to meet demand.

Thanks for sharing! Traffic volume in the city is a problem for everyone! It's a city wide issue and CEC needs to substantially address this. We have not seen clear evidence of commitment to changing the status quo.
