Life is a highway and it would be better with protected bike lanes.

RBG always should have given up her position sooner and so should Mitch McConnell. Retire. America should take care of our elders so that they don’t have to work these positions. At a certain point, age/fragility can be a liability and we should admit that.

I’m very happy to report that I’ve tied a fly that catches fish. No pics of fish but first contact was last weekend. Tied some ants and fished them at Rainy Lake in the north cascades pass.

Once you have a lot of money it becomes easier to get more money by doing nothing, which disincentivizes work. This is why all our billionaires post insane bullshit all day. If they had to work they'd be too busy to act like this, doubly benefiting society

The thing to remember about billionaires is: There’s a few positive, occasional, philanthropic pros (cool they built a nice park once). The overall net effect of a billionaire behavior is exploitation. If we tax them, yes they might actually move away. Do you want them to stay and exploit us?

I just feel like all the headlines that say “millionaire tax passed in Washington” need to stipulate it’s __per year__. The difference between a millionaire and a person making a million dollars in single year income is an EXPANSE.

It’s too early but it’s pretty. Yearly great-grandmas daffodils post.
Daffodils blooming first week in March. They’re transplanted from my great grandmothers garden.

I have a bad feeling this will only begin to end in an ICE vs Citizen firefight in some city and it wont matter who instigated it.

The thing about “AI-related layoffs” is that the macroeconomic conditions for the layoffs already existed. People are attempting to make up the difference with AI. They would have done the layoffs anyway.

It’s really important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally against bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of ACTUAL EVIDENCE that they’re better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced. Safe bike-lanes mean business.

The DNC being terrified that a progressive mayor might win NYC is so starkly indicative of how centrist the establishment is. There is no Left at the national level.

There’s something interesting about the stock market and private interests in the 2020 decade that… the government doesn’t matter. It’s toothless. Regulation is toast. The FTC/SEC are non-factors. The IRS is pointless at scale. There’s no end to the corporate dystopia. The people have lost.

The Epstein files vote. Who did you vote for?
A map showing votes in favor of releasing the Epstein files with a 51/49 split that determined the files would not be released. Largely on party lines. Republicans voting to avoid releasing the files. Cowards.

Descent was unbelievable. I am so glad to have lived through that era as a child so I could look at it and wonder with a fully open mind to it. The default keyboard controls were also written by an insane person with twisted piano fingers.

Countries with women leaders tend to be better run, but not because women are better leaders. Women can be trash too. Countries with women leaders tend to be better run, because if your country is too sexist to elect women about 1/2 the time, then it's not selecting leaders on talent.🤷🏿‍♂️
