Look at the women at NASA. They are the ones pushing the boundaries of science, solving problems most people can’t even understand, and carrying this country forward, while our politicians right now posture and stumble through talking points. And they are doing it all with joy.👇

On this day in 1891, Ellen Martin went to the polls in Lombard, IL & demanded to vote. Martin noted that the town’s charter did not explicitly limit voting in town elections to men. The election judges reluctantly agreed with Martin, who reportedly became the 1st woman to vote in Illinois. #WeTheMen

This silver coin was likely struck in Syracuse in the 460s BC. Its depiction of a highly realistic octopus shows the incredible skill of the artist and the city’s close relationship with the sea. A mini-masterpiece. #AncientBlueSky 🏺

Someone in NYC should do interviews with middle-school kids who take the subway to and from school every day, to see if they have any advice for Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy who can't seem to go a single day without pissing himself in fear over them.

President Lincoln's name adorns the front of the marble base. But if you look to the right side of the sculpture, Vinnie's signature remains from 1870, carved by her own 22-year-old hand.
