Like, my favorite game of all time is Chrono Trigger. I view it as near perfect. The creators of that game collaborated to produce a unique work of art that has resonated with me since I was a child. And dickheads like this would change it for asinine reasons.

For #My9anime I had to choose individual series for each picture but in regards to Lupin, Gundam, GoShogun and Jojo, the images are meant to cover the franchise as a whole rather than just those individual series.

It’s so nice to see a Resident Evil movie finally get it right. If you were skeptical about this film, like I admittedly was, give it a chance. I can’t wait to rewatch it.

I wouldn’t have minded seeing maybe another of the monsters from the games. There’s kinda one in there, but for the most part they’re original creatures that feel like they’d be in an RE game, so I can’t complain too much. Would’ve been cool to see a licker or hunter though.

Bryan isn’t a Leon or Jill type badass. More of a Grace or an Ethan. And Austin Abrams does a really good job at making equal parts endearing, sympathetic and dumbass, almost like a guy who plays Resident Evil being stuck in a situation from the games.

I know you’re not big on the powers part of Newtypes, but I like that Tiffa, a Newtype, gifts him this memory back using them. Part of being a Newtype is meant to be being able to understand others, so in this case, the powers allow her to recreate the image as a means of communicating feelings.

I like to think of it as a representation of his memory of them distorting or fading over time. The way if someone you know died, the more time goes on, the more you have trouble remembering their voice or what they look like.

Something I think is really cool about this is that if you compare Katoc’s photograph of his family side by side with the portrait Tiffa drew, you notice the 15 year old photo’s crease lines where’s he’s folded it have been wearing away the areas where their faces would be.

Really glad I got to see this in a theater. It’s not my favorite movie, but there was a time I was really into it and could quote a ton of its lines. Makes me want to give some of the other Transformers series a look.
