I'm close to hitting this reading goal again this year! So for the final months of the year, does anyone have any recs for horror or literary fiction by queer & trans women writers outside North America/Western Europe?

It’s one thing when the repair contractors don’t bother addressing me and only speak to my husband. But assuming the manga and hellboy collections are his is an offense I wasn’t prepared for

Now the options are… a Google Calendar invite? Eventbrite? Posting a flyer to Instagram?

040

Carter! Hal-con H04✨ @megacarter.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Obviously, Facebook events is still running. But having one platform everyone was not only on but could easily open the invite to other people?? It was perfect tool for comic events

Thinking about how post-pandemic, Toronto lost a lot of community events for new comic creators. Drink and draws, ladies nights, mixers etc There’s a lot of reasons to point to, but I honestly think losing Facebook Events didn’t help either

Daang, I did a little colour correcting but I also corrected the paper type on the printer and it made suuuch a difference, especially in how the blacks print!

Two of the same illustration printed and laid out in a computer desk. The two illustrations colours are slightly different. The first one’s blues and purples are darker, and the blacks aren’t as bold. The second’s purples are a little brighter, and the blacks parts are much richer

Hey, Affinity? Why do you open files like this as default? I just wanna talk

screenshot from the software Affinity Photo 2. An illustration file has been opened and only takes up half the window, making it very small. The other half of the window is taken up entirely by the layers tab. It doesn't make sense, and feels actively hostile.

Been wrestling with a lot of feeling overwhelmed. Part-time job has brought a lot of much needed stability but I just never feel like I have enough time. Then I realized 'you're trying to make three different comics with a part-time job. It's hard doing ONE comic and a part-time job. Relax'

1/4 After chatting with my students this semester I was inspired to redraw & re-letter my "Ins and Outs of Webcomics" comic. A 9 page Scott McCloud-style narrative for those looking for comics-related reading material, how-to guides, or an introduction to webcomics! #Webcomics #Comic

Cover of "The Ins and Outs of Webcomics" by "Jey Pawlik". Black and white illustration with halftones of Jey, a nonbinary person with short cropped black hair and big rectangular glasses running through a panel in a comic page. The background is made up of many blank comic pages with panel layouts on them.
