PSA for anyone attending a conference for accountants sometime soon. If you meet someone new there who's an accountant you can say "pleased to make your acCOUNTance" (instead of "acquaintance") and I think you'll get a polite smile out of them. Please boost so this reaches the people that need it

When the clock strikes midnight on January 1, works of art & culture from 1928 will enter the public domain in the US, meaning they can be remixed & reused in new creative works. And 1928 was a big year, thanks to a famous mouse... Join our celebrations: blog.archive.org/2023/12/05/w...

The imaginary cover to a 1928 issue of "Weird Tales from the Public Domain" features a fat cat in a top hat, smoking a cigar, strangling a mouse. The tagline of "Freeing culture from corporate captivity" runs along the bottom of the image.

Sorry for earnestposting, but, with all the people reminiscing about how they *actually got hired* from Twitter, just testing this out for Bluesky— Hi, I’m looking for work ATM. I have a background in plant bio/ecology/modeling/ML/remote sensing, interested in climate tech or ag tech.

it is my personal opinion that when you direct a bomb at a military target within a crowd of civilians, with the full knowledge that the civilians will be hit, you are in fact "targeting" civilians for all intents and purposes

For day 2 of #VirtualArtOfNeuro, my #symptomatology #embroidery body map (2016) was stitched while I experienced and visualized my many neuroimmune symptoms of #MECFS. #SciArt 🩺🧪🐡🧶

Body Map (2016)

An outline of a naked woman is embroidered on linen in the same bone white colour as the linen. She stands legs together, her right hand covering her groin, her left hand, palm up, extended slightly to her side. She looks to the right. Her entire body except for her belly is covered in intricate markings representing different neurological sensations. Her face is a mask of green lines, feathery grey lines cover her shoulders and chest. There is a thick band of intricate burgundy stitching around her waist. Her forearms and hands are covered in thick blue undulant lines. Her right leg has bands of burgundy along the muscles, with small dots around them. Her inner left leg has a thick line of blue running up it, with thin branches spreading towards her outer leg.

Can it look a bit more like this?

Can we start a meme about how some of us only stay on Twitter because our favourite accounts are still there (mostly) and they need to feel OK about leaving?

I also think thinking beyond the ordinary is a kind of Labour. Thinking is hard work and AI, in some ways is optimised to have thinking delegated to it

I think he’s mostly interested in fashioning Twitter into a political echo chamber. He’ll be optimising it towards those who will be his core fans for future political capital

I’ve seen a few things like this appear but is it gonna happen? I feel that Musk is testing out ideas by suggesting possible moves, like the ‘monthly subscription thing for all users’ that was going around

Bit of extra context on this one. 200 editions at 2 Tezos. Minted on Teia, this is a kind of open edition, with the condition being that when Byline 2 is minted, Byline 1's unsold editions will be burned. I'm going to make 24 of these. Minting every 2-3 weeks.

Howdy-doo NFT (a tezos collector) has built a huge collection by offering very low purchase prices. Also of late, many BAYC avatar accounts making Tezos shill threads on Twitter. My 'highest offer' category on my collection of Tezos pieces is barely hitting 2 figures - months back: triple digits.

Yup - I don't get it. Rain and mud will dampen the fun for some but there's many festivals where mud is a thing. It's funny also how Twitter was supposed to be some enlightened, and more robust way to get on-the-ground reports but it's awash with disinformation about Burning Man this weekend.
