Well said. How many of Tommy Robinson’s Sport’s Direct paramilitary division go and help or worship at the churches they claim they want to protect. It’s much easier to don a balaclava and shout at the RNLI. #HopeNotHate

Wasn’t aware he was still formally a ‘Liberal’ anyway. Can’t imagine why he would be as he appears to have little in common with their positions and direction which is largely dictated by the likes of Albrechtson.

Fair enough. Urgent care clinics are a good idea. Are they being executed perfectly, unlikely. I’m well aware of hospital A&E conditions. Probably 50% of those there should be elsewhere. That’s because of other failings. Not least in aged care, mental health, drug addiction care, etc, etc.

Headlines can be misleading… one fears they mean, “Let the public subsidise entrenched inequality and social division so that wealthy people can see their assets rise in value to ensure concreted inequality ever more.”

Sounds like Vic Health management have some work to do then. Someone must be collecting stats so it’s not based on anecdotal information.

I’ve not witnessed staff in urgent clinics idle here in Brisbane. The clinics are busy but not overwhelmed. The problem is more likely that too many people still go to hospital A&E when they don’t need to. Do hospitals need more funding anyway? Yes.

Some relief for south-east Queenslanders on the rail network with the timetable returning to 91% capability. Industrial action occurred over the past 9 months & wasn't helped by Minister Brent Mickelberg or Dep Premier Jarrod Bleijie. Full timetable expected in November. #qldpol

Can’t speak for ones in Vic. Here they are well used, efficient. Some issues inevitably they’ll feel unable to deal with. Are they perfect? No. Are they generally a good thing? Absolutely.

Urgent care clinics here in Brisbane are fantastic. Turn up, get seen quickly. Is every problem solved? Doubt it. Maybe they induce some demand. There must be some positive effect on hospital A&E volumes even if offsetting growth that would have happened but for the clinics.

Worry about stability is not ‘breaking point’. Provide data sources. I’m open to persuasion. Again, semantics aren’t the issue. We can agree, there’s a real problem. It’s getting worse.

Seriously dangerous proposal. The issuance of a Police Protection Direction is not a finding of criminal responsibility. However, it creates criminal liability for acts that are not usually criminal. On the say so of a police officer. As ever, it will disproportionately affect the disadvantaged.

Not being financially comfortable is hardly the same as ‘at breaking point’. I’m not comfortable but I can pay the bills. Just not any extra. Anyway, that’s just semantics. The breaking point is the sheer scale of wealth inequality. History tells us that such situations rarely end well.

She probably finds a way to reduce her taxes (little as they are) by $5m anyway… So, is that a donation? Or just a way of keeping control of her wealth so the community at large (via democratic government) don’t get to choose where resources are allocated?

Of course. Inflation needs to be low. But deflation means nobody buys anything in the expectation it’ll be cheaper tomorrow. That’s seriously problematic. Job losses, recession serious.
