How are you feeling from it? I had flu and covid vax Monday morning and felt crappy most of Tuesday and slept bad last night. Better today though. Normally covid boosters lay me up for a week so I'm calling it a win. Hope you were spared bad side effects!

Saw with my 19yo who leaves for his 2nd year of college tomorrow. Then bought him sweatpants at the mall that cost way too much. We had a lovely afternoon. Both thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

Hummingbirds.

A four panel comic. In panel 1, a rufous hummingbird flies down toward a large hummingbird feeder with as many as 6 holes on top. He thinks "The humans put up a new feeder!" In panel 2, he lands on the feeder and gazes down at it. He thinks "It's huge. Many of us could feed here at once." The idea that you can pick what become core memories for your kids bothers me. Kids remember things like the time daddy's car broke down at trader Joe's so he took them to smash burger while they waited for a tow truck.

It's weird too how they have it all set up around the perimeter. If they had more exhibits or actual fair food booths through the center it would look more full even with the same amount of people there.

We live in MD, biked around the mall area, monuments, and trail along the river on father's day. Lovely time. But the fencing they have up around the mall for this and all the security make it look anything but inviting. It does not look like it contains something that in theory is for enjoyment.

7 years ago we moved from IL to MD and I still sometimes think about that time and can't believe we did it. The lead up was so much work and the week of our move was a nightmare for a variety of reasons. I hope things go smoothly for you and send positive vibes to make it through all the hard stuff!

Parking lots and garages are also not designed for vehicles this big which creates additional hazards even when they're parked!

I was at the reflecting pool yesterday & saw all the guys using normal pool vacuums trying to suck up the algae. What drives me almost even crazier is the bathroom right by it is still disgusting. The women's has 3 stalls, only one with a functioning door. The handicapped stall has no door at all.

I think about being in the grocery store also, probably because I'm there a lot. Seeing the news and saying out loud "he's dead" and everyone around me knows exactly what I'm talking about and we all share the moment of joy.
