So much of software development comes down to pointing in roughly the right direction and taking small, steady steps. Merged changes aren't cast in stone....you shouldn't break anything but can follow with with further incremental improvements. Perfection is the enemy of progress!

Too true. I had a discussion with my husband about this the other day. Basically when you have a sentence saying “it’s not this, it’s that” and lots and lots of one short sentence punchy paragraphs, you are most likely reading AI slop not original content.

AI gen is just turning into another consumer thing everyone buys. In 10y, people who took the time to learn production instead of just prompts are going to be absolutely priceless. They're going to be paid insane money while everyone else is stuck fighting over who can write the best prompt.

Square literally does not know or care about any of this. No reason to participate. Many projects are effectively maintained outside the company now, and those engineers may choose to fork simply as a way to indicate that Block is not involved.
