Always find it interesting that the same people that feel you should "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" always are against inheritance taxes. IMHO, inheritance is income

Roads, bridges, tunnels, traffic lights, etc are all operated and maintained by taxes, because it's good for people and businesses. Why can't we have free public transport too? We've been subsidising the car industry for too long.

Behold the labour party. They want to exclude trans people from society but to do so with "dignity and respect." It's pissing on trans people and calling it rain.

A screenshot of a two-part social media thread by Sarah Owen MP (@sarahowen.org.uk).
The first post reads: "Organisations which also want to remain trans-inclusive need to receive support on how to do so within the law. In a similar way, those that wish to exclude trans men and women from their spaces also need to know how to do so without breaching individual rights to privacy. (6/7)"
The second post reads: "All of us deserve to be able to live with dignity and be treated with respect. (7/7)" The timestamp is 12:02 PM · May 21, 2026.

Look fam, we can't be intolerant of intolerant ideologies /s

Point 4.100 of the new UK guidance on the Equality Act 2010:
"Examples of stereotypes in relation to religion or belief are that persons who hold or manifest certain gender-critical beliefs necessarily have negative attitudes towards trans people, or that persons who hold or manifest the belief that same-sex sexual activity is sinful necessarily have negative attitudes towards gay people. The judgment explains that: 'it may be that some persons who hold / manifest such beliefs have such animus, but it is stereotyping to assume that all do"

@gwr.com not only your app doesn't allow to use a VPN or from abroad, now we have to log in every single time. I'm going back to use Trainline until you get serious software engineers. Or listen to them. I'm available to consult if you're interested 😅

Can you guys (@bsky.app) stop letting AI drive all your development and get some proper engineers check and test the AI slob code? This app keeps getting worse since you announced you were using more AI. I'm all for it, but have some due diligence.

It's frustrating to see people talk about EVs without knowing what they are talking about. I have a 6yo 2nd hand EV with 60k miles on it, and the battery is still at 96% of capacity. Also, I don't have access to home charging and it's absolutely fine, charge it once a week while I do my shoping.

@gwr.com can you tell your app developers to stop geo blocking your mobile API? If I'm traveling abroad I should still be able to use your app to plan trips for when I'm back. Cowboy mistake if I'm honest. Also, your new login requires to login every time. I'm just gonna go back to using Trainline.

I had to take a taxi recently, due to trains not running. There was a Tesla taxi driver. I clearly gestured no to them and promptly waited for another taxi. Felt well proud of that slight wait.

Ignoring code warning and deprecations is alike ignoring that pesky tooth ache. Sure, you'll be ok for a bit, but you're gonna need a painful root canal or extraction instead of a hygienist visit every now and then. Clean your code at least twice a day 🤭

This stuff should be illegal. It says 0% interest. But 3 x £299.60 is £898.80 Which is the equivalent of over 80% APR. Don't get tricked by false advertising. Always run the numbers.

An ad from klarna that says 0% interest on a product that costs 749 GBP but the paymenta add to 898.80 GBP.

I've always been for having an ID card, we have them everywhere the rest of Europe. However, claiming it's to stop illegal migrants is so detached from reality. The people that abuse undocumented migrants and lower wages are not checking documentation are they? Why are the red Tories so bad at this?

Some transgender people see only darkness in front and behind them. The current climate is especially accelerating this. Transgender people just want to love the people they love and live their lives as themselves. Let's all join hands and change the world🫶🌏🫶

Dear Android Devs, Unit tests are not class tests. Given how we can mock the network (with Ktor) and use in-memory databases with Room, our units under test should be the ViewModel and the UI (screenshot tests) Anemic tests ensure implementation is difficult to change, for little to no value.

Design systems are great. However, what's the value of making spacing constants for spacing values? I get semantic names, like `page_padding` or `minimum_button_height`. However space4, space8, etc, feel like unnecessary abstractions. Are they ever gonna change? CC: #androiddev
