In 1973, feminist scholar Carolyn G. Heilbrun wrote an article for the New York Times titled "Androgynous World," which encouraged readers to think of gender as a spectrum. "[B]etween the quarterback and the cheerleader, we have lost too much of our humanity," she cautioned.
A screenshot from the New York Times article. It reads:

"For the hostile, who in some sense feel threatened by this unfamiliar idea, further assurance is required. Androgyny does not mean the loss of all distinctions; those who are terrified by the word probably envision everyone, man and woman, dressed indistinguishably, like members of the Chinese Army. Those who are terrified further assume that in robbing us of clearly delineated sexual models, androgyny will rob us of all order and sanity. If we are to have more than two accepted role models—in youth, the quarterback and the cheerleader, in later life, the corporation manager and the corporation manager's wife—will we not in fact be diving off the edge of an ordered world into the abyss?

To which one must answer: between the quarterback and the cheerleader, we have lost too much of our humanity; we have come close to losing humanity altogether. What is more, the possibilities for companionship between men and women can only be heightened by androgynous energy. For androgyny implies not only that couples may find or create their own pattern of passion or conversation, but that marriage may become joyful for those who are neither quarters backs nor cheerleaders and do not now wish to play those roles."A screenshot from the same article. It reads:

"The received ideas of masculine and feminine have operated in three destructive ways. First, by insisting on the masculinity of men and the femininity of women, we have locked individuals into prisons of gender, where their response is likely to be either a mindless acquiescence, or violence and rebellion. Second, the overly defined distinction between the received ideas of masculinity and femininity has brought about a sexual polarization in our society that deprives both men and women of their common humanity in relation to one another, and has separated what should have been joined. Third, by placing in power those men at the most “masculine” end of the spectrum of human possibility, we have endangered our own survival. My hope for the idea of androgyny is that it will not become another fad, briefly puffed up by the media, but soon mentioned only to groans of boredom. That is the danger. But if, as I believe, the androgynous ideal reaches back into the very roots of our literature, religions and ancient wisdom, it will prevail. Present at the birth of every religion, submerged or subverted in most religions thereafter, androgyny hints at a new equilibrium in an unbalanced world. Those who are unmoved by an appeal to humanity's mythic origins might reflect upon the undeniable impact of modern technology, which has freed the sexes from biologically differentiated social and economic roles and from the behavioral patterns traditionally associated with them."

I think something to consider here is that Collins voted to confirm Russ Vought as OMB Director despite the fact that he said a billion times that he thought Trump had a constitutional right to illegally impound funds, and now she’s doing shocked Pikachu reactions.

Without warning or consultation, Congress just received an $810 million package of pocket rescissions from the Administration. This is the most recent attempt by this Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to undermine Congress's Constitutional power of the purse.
This move shows that OMB intentionally withheld these funds for months to execute this unlawful cancellation of appropriations that were approved on a bipartisan basis and signed into law.Not only is the delay itself an impoundment that was not reported to Congress, but also it is a usurpation of Congress's appropriations powers.
OMB is an agency of the executive branch. It does not get to decide which programs are worth funding.
The independent Government Accountability Office has concluded that pocket rescissions are unlawful and not permitted by the Impoundment Control Act. Any effort to rescind appropriated funds without congressional approval is a clear violation of the law.
I will work with my colleagues to address these illegal actions.

Russ Vought just sent a rescissions request to Congress, signaling he intends to illegally impound funds. The $810 million highlighted in this “request” (but this is a pretext to just illegally impound the funds) is not the exhaustive list of many billions of dollars he’s impounding this year.

The Ford app just added AI. This is the greatest thing ever.
Ford app AI prompt, with the user-entered text "Write a 150-word story about Sailor Moon and Hatsune Miku kissing."Under the gentle glow of a moonlit Tokyo skyline, Usagi Tsukino stood atop a quiet rooftop terrace, the night breeze catching her golden twin tails. Beside her, Hatsune Miku adjusted her glowing teal ribbons, a soft electronic melody humming faintly from the synth display at her wrist. The vibrant city buzzed far below, but above the streets, the air was peaceful and still.
Turning toward each other, Usagi smiled warmly, her bright eyes reflecting the starlight. Miku stepped closer, her digital glow softly illuminating the space between them. Without a word, Usagi leaned in, and their lips met in a sweet, tender kiss that seemed to bridge magic and music into…one perfect harmony. As they pulled back, blushing beneath the moonlight, Miku shared a soft, cheerful smile.
Now that the magic and music are in harmony, is there anything I can help you with regarding your Mustang Mach-E

Student Visas Issued by Month

Grouped bar chart comparing monthly U.S. F-1, J-1, and M-1 student visa issuances in 2024 and 2025. The State Department issued just over 551,000 student visas in 2025, 23 percent fewer than in 2024. Issuances were similar across the two years from January through April, but fell sharply below 2024 levels during the peak student-visa season, especially in June and July. June 2025 issuances were about half the June 2024 level. Issuances also remained substantially lower in October, November, and December 2025.
Where Visa Issuances Decreased the Most

Dot plot showing countries that issued more than 500 U.S. F-1, J-1, and M-1 student visas in 2024 and experienced declines of more than 50 percent in 2025. Iran had the largest decrease, at roughly 90 percent, followed by Myanmar at about 86 percent and Venezuela at about 78 percent. Other countries with declines exceeding 50 percent were the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Turkmenistan, Paraguay, the Palestinian Authority, Kuwait, India, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, and Ghana. Among countries where student visa issuances declined, the average decrease was 30 percent.
