How many women have been lead animators in movies? Just asking, for a "me, who has been watching credits for over 30 years." I guesstimate that somewhere around 3% is an overly generous number, and that the reality is more like 1%. (Just having a little bit of salt in my day, today!)

They have started the base work for the second floor of the development going up next door. I shall miss the view of my pink trees 🩷, my wide-boi tree 💚, and None-tree hill. A view that I have been lucky to have from my li'l flat, for nigh on 26 years.

Exhausted by being woken constantly at 7.30 am (and earlier, because folk who arrive early and move things around the construction site, are unsurprisingly not quiet.) 6 days a week unless it rains. This goes on (apparently) until OCTOBER. No focus. Piecemeal sleep, & jumping at the drop of a hat.

Today was the day I found out that the 'family farm' which has been part of the fam for about 100 years or so, has been sold. (It was not unexpected, alas.) Complex feelings, and much sadness. Most for the trees that I will miss (deeply) which were integral to my own childhood.

It was in my youthy youthfulnessness that I called this roadworks sign "man peeing in a ditch". (I still call it thusly, because "grown up" only means you might be taller!) Today, spotted it on the back of a work-van, tilted 90°. "Man pole-dancing in ditch."

Not my origin story (Books were a multitude, including Dr Seuss, the poems of Spike Milligan, World Myths & Legends, and a slim children's volume on the Planets/Space.) But the interest in science and general knowledge would be these two, plus Mum's maroon 10 volume encyclopedia set.

A 70s book called "Butter Side Up" or "The Delights of Science", the cover features a caricature of a man holding the nucleus of an atom, the author Magnus Pyke.

I feel the need to post art, even if these two are a bit older! I have been drafting sketches recently of juvenile Dappy, contemplating when silk ties entered his fuzzy little life! The other image is sporting the kind of attire I was wearing around the age of 4-5. ;) #caberworld
