“From creator @david-jenkins.bsky.social, this silly little pirate show blossomed into one of the most sweeping, earth-shattering TV romances of all time.” #OurFlagMeansDeath is one of the saddest TV show cancelations of 2024 according to Decider. decider.com/2024/12/10/s...

Love this picture of Wee John #OFMD

A screenshot from a night scene from episode 8 of season one. Wee John is sitting down with his arms folded on top of a barrel, level with his shoulders, with a couple of rum bottles in front of him. He's smiling up at someone or something out of shot to his right, looking like a cutie patootie in the candlelight

“We didn’t expect that a Blackbeard-centric pirate comedy would yield one of television’s sweetest pairings, but it did just that. The show’s axing was, among other things, a major loss for LGBTQ+ representation on the small screen.” — @tvline.bsky.social

less “i’m an adult, i shouldn’t be into this stuff anymore” and more “i’m an adult! i can be into whatever without caving into the judgement of others bcuz i’m no longer a teen being ridiculed by parents and peers! i’m literally an adult with free will!”

“Cancelling #OurFlagMeansDeath and failing to provide viewers with adequate narrative closure was certainly one of their biggest errors and easily one of the biggest industry disappointments of 2024.” www.looper.com/1737784/bigg...

It's easy to understand why those fans were so devastated when the show was officially cancelled in the spring following its late-2023 2nd season.
David Zaslav and Warner Brothers Discovery have taken a lot of criticism for their bizarre choices, including rebranding their streaming service as Max and shelving the completed Batgirl movie to get a tax breaks. Cancelling "Our Flag Means Death" and failing to provide viewers with adequate narrative closure was certainly one of their biggest errors and easily one of the biggest industry disappointments of 2024.

I actually have enough art to do this! Pretty proud of my small collection. 🥹 It had been a while since I’d drawn, and at the beginning of the year I had NO idea how to use Procreate or draw digitally. #ArtVArtist #ArtVArtist2024 #OurFlagMeansDeathFanArt #OFMDFanArt

For those who haven't seen it Man Like Mobeen is now on Prime Video ❤️Huge recommendation for it.

Promotional poster for Man like Mobeen, featuring Guz Khan as Mobeen in the foreground on the right, sitting on a chair in a prison rec room. Duaa Karim as Aqsa is sitting behind him in a mustard coat with Tolu Ogunmefun on the left. In the background, Youssef Kerkour as Megalodon is sitting. They are all looking at the camera.

as per tradition, sharing my latest embroidery projects now that I’ve gifted them to their recipients. Nathan and @therealcononeill.bsky.social got these today and were absolutely lovely about them 🥰🦄

Embroidery project depicting a sketch-type outline of Lucius Spriggs. Text above the outline says “don’t be a dick” with the first three words in black thread and “dick” in sparkly metallic thread. There is a rainbow flag in the background behind the embroidery piece, which is being held aloft by a hand.

Embroidery project featuring the quote “it’s about belonging to something”, with “belonging” in metallic thread inside of a banner. The banner is stretched in front of an outline of a rearing unicorn. The unicorn has a variegated purple mane and tail, done in “turkey work” stitching which adds texture. The rest of the text is in variegated red thread.

Q: What advice would your characters like to give us? Nathan: I’ve said this before...DUMP HIM. Vico: S1 Jim: Fuck them up. S2 Jim: It's ok to be soft. Kristian: You can be completely different on the inside and if not there’s always arson. Con Not moving on is worse...and swallow.

Yes I do, I think about that a lot. I also quite like the idea that it looks like they might have this shy romantic little shuffle but then Stede busts out a gavotte or something. Keep it silly, Stede.

Of course you know our silly gay comedy with heart that stars Samba Schutte called Advanced Chemistry. But you may not know Samba stars in a silly gay comedy with heart that was wrongly cancelled by HBOMax called #OurFlagMeansDeath. Help save it! www.change.org/p/save-our-f...

"It's crazy that they decided to leave it there when you’ve got such a big fanbase and it’s such an optimistic, fun, beautifully represented show...It’s up to the stars in the sky as to whether it’ll ever come back..." We caught a sneaky #OFMD mention in Rhys' latest interview for That Christmas!

A friendly reminder that unlike on the birdsite, it’s important to repost or reply to things here. That’s the only way more people see a thing! Liking is nice, but it doesn’t help something be visible for anyone else ❤️ (I didn’t know this until I saw it pointed out by folks who’d been here a while)

Buttons has an incredibly popular tiktok channel where he does hour-long lives of just staring out towards the ocean, then every so often he turns to the camera to say something wild. He may or may not have started a cult.
