It’s very simple and it’s been said over and over but I guess it needs saying continuously: if you deem one group too small to have equal rights you are enabling fascism, not fighting it. The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.

“I can’t give anyone a view into my heart and mind but I can split some meaningless platitudes that say nothing about my views”. All we can do is judge people by their actions, and we can look at what’s happened at CBS News to see clearly that Ellison is full of shit.
Unfortunately, I can't give anyone a view into my heart and mind, but I can share this: I have regularly voted for candidates of both parties; I hold some views that would be called conservative and others that would be called liberal, just like most Americans; and when it comes to our news operations, I do not aspire to lead these companies to bend their newsrooms to my views. I believe that news should be based on facts and truth.

The Trump Country Diner trope has returned
Headline:
They Wanted a Conservative State. They Might Get a Democratic Representative Instead.

Subhed:
The passage of Proposition 50, which redrew California’s congressional map, means that all of the state’s conservative north is likely to be represented by Democrats.

Main text:
A dozen rice farmers ate chili and munched on sandwiches on a recent afternoon at the Richvale Cafe, a lunch spot that was bustling by local standards and brought more people face to face in one sitting than each might see in an entire week.

Richvale, population 234, has a cluster of ranch-style homes surrounded by a flat expanse of furrowed plots and flooded rice fields. It sits hundreds of miles north from the tech hubs and balmy beaches that many Americans envision when they think of California.
