Not to take away from celebrating Carson, but she's a "former professor" here in large part because the university shut down her department and cancelled its classes. What pride does the institution claim now—years later—when austerity is forcing other scholars out? What does that 'pride' do?

NB: I have diverged from West's text by adding a diaeresis to the first -υ- in ἐϋσφύρῳ in order to make the scansion a bit more clear. There are two instances of correption in this line (which is very annoying).

Historical contact linguistics have a long tradition in the comparative linguistic science. As past human landscapes become increasingly illuminated through new methods and data from ancient genetics and archaeology, it is time to integrate the wealth of information from historical linguistics in a consistent manner. The book introduces the science of historical contact linguistics through the works of a new generation of scholars with rich perspectives from across the world. Through the explora

Just in case anyone is now emotionally invested in this story I report that Marcus does get his comeuppance when his father then beats him. What a good story.

After making it past the opening crawl of the first two chapters of Lingua Latina per se illustrata, we're ready to start learning about Roman culture... LLPSI: Here's some Roman culture:
A dialogue about a boy beating his younger sister because she's singing too loudly and laughing about it afterwards.

I'm not sure if this is a thing that other players experience as a regular part of gameplay but I think I've gotten to the point where I have to ask a bunch of questions of what is the fundamental nature of reality in this fictional universe.

If we were truly talking "top academic talent" a) Canada would be investing in the people who already work there and b) people who are teaching 5/5 at a community college and changing people's lives on a shoestring would be top of the list.

Final -n- because it was recharacterised as an n-stem, and final k‘ because in Armenian it's 'buttocks' which is plural because you have two of them, whereas πρωκτός 'butthole' can only be singular. It's a good etymology.

In Silksong I just spent a very long time after multiple failed attempts to successfully traverse an extremely long platforming challenge with no save points along the entire route (except for the one that was a trap, i knew it was a trap and I sat on that bench anyway) only to finally die in a boss arena that was at the end of it.
