A little while ago I started agent-coding a corpus engine in Rust. I just got Opus 5.5 to build an equivalent in Zig and it's considerable faster and I'm torn which to pursue. Rust has better Python bindings going for it but the Zig version is blazing.

It occurs to me that even though I originally conceived of Dromaios as emulating in the browser with Javascript, because it's now using its own CPU and machine description language, it could compile to other targets such as Rust. github.com/jtauber/drom...

First experiment (some narrative annotation) with Jev didn't require any effort. I just told Astra to get Jev to do an annotation I'd used Astra for last week. Told it where my Jev key was and it ran a pilot comparison. Not *amazing* results yet but it's so cheap I can do a lot more experimentation.

Dromaios now fully emulates an Intel 8008, 8080, 8088, a Motorola 6800, 6809, 68000, a MOS 6502, and a Zilog Z80. But now I'm switching to code generation from a literature specification of each CPU. github.com/jtauber/drom...
