Slander is spoken; libel is written. But this isn't either of those. It's detailed reporting from a respected outlet with damning evidence. And "most consequential Commerce Secretary in modern history" is as impressive as "shortest NBA player from Luxembourg"
Speaking on behalf of Lutnick, the White House said: "The BBC's pathetic and desperate attempt to slander Secretary Lutnick will do nothing to change the fact that he has been the most consequential Commerce Secretary in modern history."

A former editor of mine at a news outfit—both shall remain nameless—posted to social media once about AI being amazing because it could write a bedtime story for their kid based on their kid’s ideas. It remains bone-chilling to me. Total abdication of one’s humanity (except as a joke, like MadLibs).

I simply don’t understand why people are so aggressively patting themselves on the back as they say the AI industry’s doomsday claims about itself are part of its own hype model. How about we just take these guys at their word so we can regulate them into federal court and nationalize their assets?

An extremely funny and telling phenomenon is when The Daily Mail can’t find a single person on staff to take the byline for a story. You’re free to imagine Laura Loomer hovering over a row of sad sacks and billowing black smoke as she demands this story be published. archive.is/tX0cm

Something like this happened once at the local CBS affiliate here in Gotham City back in the ‘90s.
Stills from the “Christmas With the Joker” Episode of Batman: The Animated Series. Joker’s hijacked the station to do a TV special. Commissioned Gordon is tied up in gift wrap, to menacing effect.

There are so many people I see who are ostensibly pro-Science, militant proselytizers of a very strict materialist reality, extremely condescending about fringe weirdos who believe things they act like they’re too smart to ever fall for themselves—then they share this kinda shit over and over again.
