I keep reading all these critiques of Nolan's 'The Odyssey,' and they are all just basically, "Look at me. Look at me. I'm smarter than Christopher Nolan."
A woman with long, straight dark brown hair looking off to the side with an intense, defensive facial expression. She is wearing a rust-orange or dark red ribbed turtleneck sweater. White, bold, capitalized meme text overlays the bottom of the image, reading: "I'M NOT STUPID I'M SMARTER THAN YOU". A still from I Think You Should Leave.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world mediation that includes c' is somehow different than a multiple regression model.
A version of "The Office" meme format featuring the character Pam Beesly.
In the top panel, hands hold up two statistical path analysis diagrams side-by-side for comparison. The left diagram is titled "PATH ANALYSIS: MEDIATION MODEL" and shows independent variable A, mediator variable B, and dependent variable C, with paths labeled rho_AB, Beta_1, and Beta_2. The right diagram is titled "PATH ANALYSIS: MULTIPLE REGRESSION MODEL" and shows predictor variables IV A and IV B leading to outcome variable DV C, labeled with the exact same paths (rho_AB, Beta_2, and Beta_1). The yellow subtitle reads, "Corporate needs you to find the differences between this picture and this picture."
In the bottom panel, Pam looks directly at the camera with a subtle smile. The yellow subtitle reads, "They're the same picture," delivering the punchline that a mediation model and a standard multiple regression model are mathematically identical in this context.

1/ 🧵PROCESS Model 4 is the wrong tool to test mediation in an experiment. The c’ path turns prediction into description and prevents falsification. New preprint with @chriscarpenter.bsky.social and @beccafraz.bsky.social at osf.io/preprints/ps... explains why.

Excited to present our project “Character Profiles: Broadening Theoretical Conceptualizations of Character Schemas” at #NCA2025! This work examines character and person perception processes of distinct character types (e.g., pirates, cowboys, mad scientists). Thurs Nov 20 - 2:30PM - Maple 05
A presentation title slide with the heading “Character Profiles: Broadening Theoretical Conceptualizations of Character Schemas” in large red text. Below, in black text, it reads “Matthew Grizzard, Scarlet and Gray Associate Professor.” Two columns list collaborators: Lucy Brown, Rebecca Frazer (with a small University of Florida UF logo), Charles K. Monge (with a small Texas Tech University double-T logo), and Sebastian Lubert on the left; Violet Musser, Samantha Flanagan, and C. Joseph Francemone on the right. Can someone try to replicate this error in #microsoft #excel? If I ask for the standard deviation of a constant where the value is 3.12, 3.45, -3.12, or -3.45, I get a value that isn't zero. Note that this isn't true of other numbers like 2, 3.23, etc. What's happening?
