Quick portrait/profile of a Camarasaurus based on the study that just dropped. The idea of sauropods having beaks is a cool revelation, if one that'll take some getting used to drawing lol #paleoart #dinosaur #dinosaurart #sauropod #Camarasaurus
Colored side-view profile/portrait of the neck and head of a Camarasaurus lentus. The mouth and lips of the Camarasaurus is covered and partly extended by a keratinous walnut-colored "beak". Its head and neck are is turquoise green with aqua-blue bands running down its length and a lighter green and melon-yellow on the underside.

My advice as a science illustrator is that if you ever get a chance to draw the Cambrian explosion, you should go all in and spend hours researching every single one of these insane animals. 🦞🐙🦀🦑 Evolution is such a trip. I'm so grateful to have briefly existed on this gorgeous planet. 🤯 #sciart

Wonderful post. When we lose that human connection, I imagine both the “prompter” and the viewer interact with the visual at a much more superficial level. We lose interest in the visual tool and trade it for efficiency, and maybe the viewer will mimic the lack of investment in their learning.

Visuals have revolutionized scientific understanding throughout history—and that’s why we must resist the temptation to delegate them to mindless algorithms.

The injured tissue microenvironment is illustrated as an underwater landscape in which TAMs are depicted as submarines engaging in coordinated repair processes including nerve growth-promoting activities, relevant in both cancer and in neural tissue regeneration. TAMs can repair nerve fibers (damaged cable), participate in extracellular matrix remodeling (stone shifting), and promote angiogenesis (restoring coral). Image credit: Matteo Farinella.

Reflected pools of light swirl beneath the autumn hues of gold and green. An October blue sky peeks between the branches of fall-colored leaves. Thick brush strokes of oil paint capture the movement and poignant beauty of the scene. Erin's unique style of Open Impressionism involves placing brush strokes side-by-side without blending, creating a mosaic of color and texture across the canvas.
