For those who never saw it, an A+ use of photogrammetry and modeling to dissect the missed Virginia Tech field goal. I'll passive-aggressively note that most of the usual controversy-stoking outlets never bothered to follow up with facts. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY9N...

This is about the best I could do through clouds tonight, but I hope you all enjoyed tonight’s lunar eclipse! f/2.8 Takahashi Epsilon 180ED at 500mm focal length. 5s exposure through clouds. #lunareclipse 🔭🧪

We’re back from Spain and I’ve finally had a chance to look through my photos of the total solar #eclipse. We were able to watch the eclipse perfectly from south-east of León – at the edge of a sunflower field. What an experience! #Sonnenfinsternis #astrophotography 🔭

I messed up my threading, but I’ve now added in a high-speed ALP-T (Ha/OIII), did a real polar alignment, rotated focuser to 90/270, and redid guide callibration. Now testing dual narrowband on Pelican Nebula. First frame soon.

Now switching to a fast ALP-T Ha/OIII. I’ve finally bothered to do polar alignment, and rotated the (stock) focuser to closer to 90 / 270 degrees. Testing on Messier 27 soon.

FIrst 5 minute guided exposure on NGC-281. (And too lazy for polar alignment!) Stars in all four corners look GOOD to me! Collimation looks work leaving alone. Let’s find something else to test on.

Starting first test!! Hand focusing tonight just to see if I've got overall light train right and OAG reasonable. Zwo AM5 with 10 pound counterweight seems to handle fine. First 5 min exposure in a few seconds!

Just the tube rings alone are a sight to behold. (I have the Taks but will use Rouz Astro.) Bought off CN and drove to TN to pick up. New condition and never before mounted. Pristine! But don't worry, I still love your old 8" EdgeHD too. (And now I have an OCAL to help improve its collimation.)

Amazing experience to see the total eclipse from the coast of Spain 🌑🥹 I was worried about the weather but we got lucky 🤩
Selfie of a couple with eclipse glasses and the sun still shining bright in their facesPhoto of total solar eclipse with the sun in a clear sky over the ocean with a bit of foreground land. The sun is black in center with bright corona.Solar eclipse just after totality with the “diamond ring” effect. The landscape is the same as in the previous photo with clear sky, ocean, and a bit of foreground land but there’s bright sun reflecting on the water this time.
