A few random abstract images from #Iceland.
Flat grey pebbles on a black sand beach with little specks of sand on top of them and directional trails of sand to the left of each pebble where the wind has sculpted the sand.A frozen pool with snow on the top, a little open gap with lighter area reflected and a dark black rock to the bottom left.Rings and patterns of ice.Small pieces of broken icebergs on a black sand beach with the icebergs covered in the sand after strong winds.

For #WorldPhotographyDay here's one of my favourite images from #Iceland of the stunning Sólfar (Sun Voyager) sculpture in Reykjavík (by Jon Gunnar Arnason). Taken back in March 2013.
Pre-sunrise winter photo with lots of lovely pale blue and pink. Long exposure so smooth clouds over distant mountains. Main subject is a wonderful metal sculpture in the shape of a Viking boat, with the light making it look rose gold. Partly reflected in the frozen paving below.

Time for a big red volcano! This is Rauðaskúla on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, taken from a random road I ventured up one night last weekend. #Iceland #DronePhotography #DJIMavic3Pro
A close up of a large red extinct volcano with some bright green moss on the ridged lower flanks. In the distance is a little lake, lava fields and mountains with bright white clouds just showing.

The weekend starts here! Staying on the turquoise theme, one of my favourite river braids in the south-east of #Iceland.
Turquoise river braids meandering across pale dry sand (which probably is darker grey or black when wet).

By now we know that it was not JUST glacier ice, but a tremendous bedrock landslide that collapsed in Nepal. @planet.com satellite imagery shows a fairly large (0.17km2) lake has formed, which could release a sizeable flood if it were hit by further rockfalls. This is concerning for rescue workers.
