I think I kinda love it, actually. It definitely has several spooky qualities to it. I can see how a lot of people might feel the acting or the dialogue are shit but I also like those aspects of it too.

I've been watching The Langoliers (1995) and I can safely say that I have never seen a film quite like this. People have told me about this movie (a tv mini-series in truth) for years and while I generally knew the form of a langolier I didn't know the full story.

Look what came in the lunch from the retirement home today! It's the cheesy broccoli! The menu is decided well on advance by some asshole in a three-piece suit up in Kentucky who pre-arranges the Sysco order so there's simply no way they could have known the timing. Hilarious coincidence!

Yeah, they bowdlerized the Hell outta that movie. Pretty much cut away from a great deal of the violence and whatnot. Some of the edits to remove various "fuck"s from the dialogue were pretty funny though. Brandon Lee's death was quite a shame. He was a handsome fella with a good voice.

Watching The Crow (1994) but I'm watching it on YouTube and it's the made-for-TV version so the edits leave something to be desired. Also, when I watch this movie I often end up wondering which of the gunshots killed Brandon Lee.

Late last week I took one of the foam pads that came with my medical boots and put it under the front of my left foot. Today I've put in a second one. Didn't feel much from the one pad but somehow two has created a measurably different sensation. Uncomfortable but hopefully applying a mild stretch.

Waveshare 2.8" C5-CYD arrived today and I was able to confirm some information. It is an ESP32-C5-WROOM-1 (not a '1U' suffix like the NM-CYD-C5 Colorful I obtained). This means that it has antenna traces integrated into the PCB instead of a mandatory u.FL connector.

Previously, the smart money when fighting Incineration Corps was to wear the heavily fire-resistant armor from the Freedom's Flame warbond (or some others with slightly lower but still substantial 40-50% fire resistance). But with this booster? You can just wear whatever armor you want! It's great!

I have gained tremendous new strategic insight into Helldivers 2. I've been generally well-pleased with the latest warbond Ironclad Democracy. It's an all around excellent warbond but one aspect I hadn't paid attention to was the booster: Integrated Extinguishers. This is a game changer, man!

The planet Wasat was under attack by the infamous Automaton faction known as the Incineration Corps, whose attacks all have incendiary effects. This means lasers, flame throwers, bombs, pretty much everything these bots shoot stand a reasonable chance of catching you on fire.

Page 3 of the Ironclad Democracy Warbond (introduced in September 2026) includes a booster. This booster is called "Integrated Extinguishers" which reduces the amount of time all divers in the squad burn for when they catch fire. This is actually quite incredible and very freeing.

However, Flock detection methods are a rapidly evolving battleground. Entirely possible SquachWatch-CYD isn't using the most avant garde methodologies. I think Wireless Wizard can do it too. Lots of firmwares have such pointed scanning methodologies. No idea which is best but I'd guess Kal's way.

Ran SquchWatch-CYD in the ride to my Ma's house. Mostly it found iBeacons but it also spotted an Airtag and a few other items of low/medium sinister nature. No Flocks or Axons. iBeacon detection is off by default. This is because there are a lot of those things.

Have learned a bit more and by all rights it would appear that Wireless Wizard probably can take advantage of both the NM-CYD-C5 Colorful in particular and the NM-RF-HAT so that's neat. Also, I suspect that the UI jank in SquachWatch is due to jitter and bounce in the resistive touch panel.
