Seeing what they're doing to shove AI into all their existing franchises like Layton & Yokai Watch hurts so bad, and seeing games I was initially interested in seeing like the Holy Haunted Mansion or whatever and Decapolice be tainted by this AI brainworm in L5's head is just extra shitty.

I am physical only 100% unless the devs are a smaller indie team. If said indie team makes a physical I try to grab that when possible (limited copies in lots of cases tend to make it difficult) but when it comes to big AAA developers it's physical or I'm not buying.

I watched the final episode of Lanterns and I don't know how others will feel about the series and especially the finale (and the big reveals it had) but I thought it worked EXCEPTIONALLY well. I don't know where it could go in a potential season 2 but I definitely wanna see what they come up with.

Watching what's happening with Level 5 lately is like watching a loved one refuse to listen to you when you tell them they may have some kind of addiction (gambling/alcohol/whatever). They're so obsessed with AI right now but every time we call it out they backtrack and hem and haw. It's really sad.

Will do! This is really the only "major" issue I've had so gonestly it could be WAY worse. The game is definitely at least in my top 3 of the year so far, the music and puzzle design both are just SO GOOD. That mountain area track is phenomenal.

It's not super visible and you kinda have to look hard at the movement to realize where it's stuttering but I assure you it's not a video problem. Sometimes the movement speed slows for a couple frames randomly, then suddenly not long after the model slightly jolts forward almost to make up for it.

It went all weird, felt almost like I was lagging in an online game where it felt like my movement speed was trying to catch up to where I should actually be at. Not sure of a good way to explain it, I'll try to take a clip out of the stream I did to showcase it. It IS fixed now though fwiw.

Not sure what's going on with my save in Isle of Reveries, movement got SUPER jank along the way somewhere. Not fun jank, like something broke jank. Hopefully a patch comes out to fix it or something, but outside of that the game is still sick as hell and the puzzle design is top tier.

Also just finished the first season of the Scrubs reboot finally and man, they're definitely doing something right with this show. The new characters are kind of hit or miss but they all have moments that make them work when they need to especially as the season goes on. Excited for season 2!

I'm just saying, if extraction shooters had a separate permanent progression on top of the seasonal one and the option to do purely PvE for lesser rewards to balance it out then more people would be willing to try them out and would have a reason to stay invested longer term.

The new manhwa season just started with the Civilization arc and I'm already VERY interested in what they're doing here. They've taken an early gag about goblins and somehow turned it into what's already starting to be a compelling story about the species as a whole. Like LOOK AT THIS.

The couple arcs after it also go to some insane places, but don't quite reach the Mt. Everest heights that the previous arcs have hit. Lots of good themes on bullying, being a bystander, the worth of reaching a hand out, with it all packaged with even more insane character writing.

The Romance arc also goes places I totally didn't expect either, and will probably be considered a fan favorite. They once again use his regression ability in VERY interesting ways here, but also again it's the character writing of [SPOILER] that really embodies what I love about this series.

The Murim arc legitimately made me ugly cry, the ending was just that good. One of the best things I've ever read, no contest. The way Gonja uses his regression ability there builds so much character, but it's really the final reveals & the writing regarding his master that make that arc so special.

It's actually pretty easy to see how it'll be carved out per-season though. Season 1 will likely be floors 1-20, season 2 will probably be the Murim and Romance arcs (it makes sense when you get there) and season 3 will probably be the rest of the storybook floors.

I've had similar feelings towards the recently announced SSS-Class Revival Hunter anime. The first 10-12 chapters have the main character be kind of insufferable but once he gets to the "doll house" the character and story writing VASTLY improves. Luckily that's maybe 2 anime episodes to deal with.

But ALSO some of the content from chapters 40 to 200ish have some genuinely great content nearly on par with Shangri-La Frontier, and the comedy is also just as good most of the time. Even this first episode had some good visual gags like with the dad getting scolded with Greed.

I'm also not sure how I feel about how the manhwa treats his "relationship" (trying not to spoil) that he is in within the story. It's very... crass? I think that's the nicest way to put it. I know it eventually becomes a pretty major story beat but also like, ugh.

Another issue is that the last hundredish chapters of Overgeared have been kind of meandering imho (not terrible, but lacking a firm goal for the squad) & when they inevitably get there I can't imagine the anime will be that fun to watch. That's a way future problem though, at least a season 4 one.
