I remember being part of celebrating the 50th anniversary. I've still got the commemorative LP. An astonishing number of those on it went on to become my professional colleagues. Congratulations RCMJD.

It's me, a Telegraph columnist, taking a break screaming bloody murder about fairness in the women's sports I wouldn't be caught dead watching to wax lyrical about academic integrity in sociology, a field I consider to be fake, at institutions I consider to be communist indoctrination centers.

Cannot believe it's taken me this long to log on to the Dyfi Osprey Project live feed
A screenshot of the life webcam feed from the Dyfi Osprey Project. The nest is in the foreground, with (I think) one parent and chick. Behind is a perching post with two more osprey sitting on it. In the background is the broad expanse of the Dyfi estuary, looking upstream towards the Tarren hills. The whole is indescribably lovely.

In today's inbox: three requests to work for free. One would cost me £190 in rail fare, another would cost me at least 40 hours of work, and the last says "we don't have a budget for speakers, but we can promise a nice lunch." Folks, if you're paying the caterers, you can pay your speaker.

It’s a running joke in academia that Matt Goodwin is bad at maths. This sort of thing is why: the combined Labour/Green vote could have split in any way possible and Goodwin would have finished 2nd or 3rd. He did not lose because progressives coordinated. He lost *in spite of them not doing so*.
