Digital menstrual tracking is widely promoted to women and girls on social media and by technology companies focused on health and wellness

Menstrual tracking apps claim to inform health and wellness beyong fertility as well as physical fitness and performance goals despite a lack of convincing evidence.

Using digital cycle tracking technologies brings substantial risks to users, including wasted time and labor, unwanted surveillance, risks to health data privacy, potential criminalization and distraction from structural influences on health.

Digital menstrual tracking tools have the potential to reshape understandings of women's health and biology and compound existing inequities that continue to shape menstrual health and wellbeing.

Health practitioners, regulators and the general public must be aware of and work to address the risks of these consumer technologies.

TDOC should be holding a press conference as to the current state of Christa Pike’s health. There also needs to be a review of what went wrong i.e. sourcing of the drug, expiration, and detailed explanation of technical failures. I oppose the death penalty for many reasons, but this is horrific.

Bigoted and stupid. The idea that the United States is at risk of falling under sharia rule is ludicrous on its face. There’s a much greater risk of Christian nationalists changing this nation for the worse. And they’re the ones using the phantom sharia threat to justify their own extreme agenda.

Office of the Post Conviction Defender, and Stephen Ferrell and Luke Ihnen from Federal Defender Services of Eastern Tennessee
Tonight the State of Tennessee once again failed to carry out a lawful execution. We take no pleasure in being right, but the concerns raised by Ms. Pike proved to be true: difficult vein access, blown veins, degraded pentobarbital, no emergency medical care available when things inevitably go wrong, all under a protocol that remains veiled in secrecy.
Christa is being treated at a nearby hospital. We have not been informed as to her condition.

The lone woman on Tennessee's death row was still alive after she was administered two lethal injections, her lawyer said in a motion seeking to halt her execution Wednesday night, a stunning development after the Supreme Court had stepped in to allow the state to put her to death.
At 8:26 p.m. local time, witnesses said
"executioners had injected both syringes of lethal injection chemicals and Pike is still alive and snoring," her lawyers said in a federal court filing.
They said Pike "has not lost consciousness and still has a heartbeat," and that curtains to the death chamber "have gone down twice."

The Tennessee Department of Correction began the execution of Petitioner
Christa Gail Pike at approximately 8:00 p.m. CDT. According to counsel witnessing the execution:
1. Both syringes of pentobarbital have been administered.
2. Ms. Pike has not lost consciousness and still has a heartbeat and is
audibly snoring.
3. Curtains have gone down twice.
4. It took counsel approximately 7 minutes to be connected via phone.
Accordingly, the Petitioner requests and order immediately staying her execution

Louisiana is comparing abortion pills to anthrax and fentanyl because they view embryos as legal people. Claims this is a reason the Supreme Court should take the challenge to abortion shield laws. I've seen fentanyl comparison before but not anthrax... www.ag.state.la.us/Files/Articl...
If New York, Massachusetts, and California had
erected laws encouraging their residents to ship fenta-
nyl or anthrax to addresses in Plaintiff States, there is
no question that Plaintiff States would have textbook
quasi-sovereign interests in challenging those laws—
for the very lives and health of their citizens would be
at stake. That is exactly the case here: Plaintiff States
protect unborn babies from the moment of conception.
Thus, every unborn baby whose life is terminated—
like every woman or girl who faces pain and suffer-
ing—is valued and protected in Plaintiff States. Cf. Al-
fred L. Snapp & Son, Inc., 458 U.S. at 607 (“One help-
ful indication in determining whether an alleged in-
jury to the health and welfare of its citizens suffices to
give the State standing to sue as parens patriae is
whether the injury is one that the State, if it could,
would likely attempt to address through its sovereign
lawmaking powers.”)
