If anyone questioned the value of our tax dollar investment into some programs, look no further than all the things that are having issues without those programs in place, such as the screw worm outbreak, the food borne illness problem. That shows you the value of those investments by former admins

There has to be some amount of pushing against the edges or the game will start to stagnate. Not saying they need to upend lots of things, however exploration is a part of design in this way. Commander is no different than standard in that way. Testing the edges is how you get cool new stuff.

Great example! Savannah Lions were a staple in mono white aggro and were great rate. Now they don't see play except in theme decks. It's actually wild to me that kinscaer sentry sees NO play at the moment in standard and is listed in less than 1% of commander decks. (I need to revisit that card)

On #3 I'm always amazed at how much value you get from most cards compared to premodern (which is where I did the bulk of my playing) like having a creature even with power and toughness that matched the mana cost was rare unless they had a significant drawback. Now you get like keen eyed curator.

The news about an AI system accessing another company without permission tells me either they are incompetent or malicious. If they set it to task & couldn't contain it, they're incompetent. If they set it to task to do it on purpose, they're malicious. It may be marketing. Either way they look bad.

Video I saw was basically like a haul video, that was, "oh, Look at all the cool stuff that Hasbro sent us." It was definitely not focused on the product at all, and it was way more focused on those creators and what they were getting, and using that as a form of content.

And to be clear, Hasbro has every right to do that for their ambassadors, and the ambassadors are providing value back to Hasbro clearly. It just gave me the icks to see it that way. Like "oh they're selling me and that's what they're getting paid" ok well that doesn't feel great.

I saw one of those videos and it made me annoyed enough to unfollow the creator. Like I know ambassadors get some free product but I didn't realize it was quite that much. And I'm just a regular dude out here buying product, which subsidizes that.

Someone came to my house to try and sell me on something having to do with energy and I had to "old man tap the sign" in my window that says very clearly "No Solicitation" They didn't understand.. so I had to explain to them what "soliciting" is and that they were "soliciting"
