I absolutely love this guy. He feels like a Rocky character to me. Someone who sets the example, available to everyone, thoughtful and wise. Everybodys older brother. I'm so happy we have him. I hope he stays with us post-career. What a coach/leader he would be for our youth football.

He’s probably never going to give us an ‘8’, but if he can maintain ‘6.5-7.5’, that’s fine.

Yes, but also, football should not be a contest to see who can spend the most. It should be to see who can build the best team in comparison with peers, operating within similar constraints.

I wonder why we need financial regulation? Probably Arteta's fault... or the Red Cartel... 🙄 Majority of clubs on edge of 'financial disaster' - regulator - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...

Independent regulator report says English football finances are 'dangerously exposed'
English football's finances are "dangerously exposed, with the majority of clubs living on the edge of financial disaster", a new report says.

The rules were the same for everyone. So nobody had an advantage over anyone if they adhered to the rules.as I did apologise not surem hat your complaint is. Your central argument that a club who spent 15 years being raided by city and clawing its way back is in a cartel is still nonsense. Goodbye.

Like I said. I checked again and I was wrong. They were interest free. That was within the rules prevailing at the time.

Just checked again, and you are right they were interest free. Of course the rules at the time allowed that.

"Do you think he has the balls to call out the Arsenal owners on the £300 million in interest-free loans?" The loans were given at market interest rates and reported in all financial statements accordingly. Claiming they were interest-free is either idiotic or a lie.

Idiotic claims, easily disproven do not advance your case. They just make you easier to ignore.

I wonder what the City greats of the 70's make of this. They had some truly magnificent players who earned their medals. Their memory too is tarnished.

I have read that the auditors ahve claimed the numbers they were given misrepresented the facts. If thats the case, I would expect them to sue as well, if not, it looks like they too are complicit.

The SFO and HMRC should be both conducting an investigation into the club and the auditors. It's been announced today that Deloitte's in Cyprus, Abrmavitch's auditors, cooked the books enabling him to hide his assets. I feel City's auditors must have been complicit.

Thats a fair shout, but, like a lot of goals, that was one of a series of poor plays. Special mention must also go to the fact that the ball should never have got the far, and among those at fault for that was Rice.

Nice !! Interspersed with a checkerboard booing scheme organised with the stadium screen just for an occasional change of pace? ‘Sections 10, 43, 68, Now upper tier, lower tier, east, west, all together!’ We could run competitions between stadiums….

Looking at a graph earlier it seems 1 in 8 pounds was paid by a sponsor the rest was illegal. Imagine the team that they assemble with 1/8th of the money.

So in the last week alone I find he has been interfering with the rules again, presumably to help a mate for his vote, and from Rui Pinto that he is elbow deep in the Sham City CAS case. As bent as an angle iron.

I don't believe that. I have not been misled. At no point have I implied that the State of Israel has been driving out non-jews from within the borders of Israel. These are all assumptions on your part. As for the illegal settlements, the West Bank, and Gaza, those are different matters.

Such as Catalans, Basques, Scots, Aboriginal peoples, Native Canadians, and Americans, etc. etc. Agreed. I don't see that argument actualised very often. I also don't see that it should come at the expense of others living there.

Quite the opposite Nick. This was the point I made to start with, a direct refutation of the claim I responded to. I’m not sure what you intended, but you intervened, not me. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

I don’t know who you are, but the claim that I responded to was that a group lays claim to territory now based on their residence there in antiquity. I simply pointed out that virtually the whole world would be subject to the same claims by different peoples.

I fear not expelling them will. Who wants to play with cheats in a poison competition with dodgy finance, dogy refs, and now enforcment. Either they are thrown out, or the clean clubs should think hard about leaving.

Doesn’t seem to mention that pillaging competitors like Villa, Spurs and us, helped them solidify their position. Further paying high prices meant that the top Echelon were even more expensive and therefore multiple buys were beyond any budget but theirs.

And to test the accounting trail in the sponsoring companies that show the transaction. Going from 15m (subsidised in one year), to 85 m in the next year (without subsidy). Let’s see the books. I imagine the relevant tax authorities would like that too.

Enjoyed this piece. A suggestion: youth transfers (all jurisdictions) and payments should be registered with a central authority; we cannot allow kids and their families to be the new frontier of exploitation.
