The dissonance between the combined joy and pride I feel for my family and science and the combined fear and anger I feel about the ability of the same to exist safely in their current forms, is really starting to do my head in.

I'm glad my dad and stepmom had Medicaid for the skilled nursing needed at the end of their lives. A *LOT* of people are about to learn what it means for them and their relatives not to have that.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE. This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined. It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

My lab works with Elamipretide. I AM NOT: A PHYSICIAN or COMPENSATED BY THE COMPANY, we work in RODENTS. But we have never had any adverse effects in mice with the drug and it seems to only have an effect (+) in dysfunctional mitochondria. I am also mom to a kid with a rare disease, this hits home💔.
