It is difficult to think of many things so sometimes having a symbol for all of them is important.

I'm a hopeless romantic. You're a terrible flirt. Cool and unfazed, you're always amazed when someone gets hurt.

So my submission for #Nudivember today is an undescribed Tenellia from the Oman Sea. This pair are engaging in a bit of rumpy pumpy to make more #Nudibranch. #MarineLife #Inverts

A photo of two sea slugs lined up next to each other head to tail as a result of engaging in copulation. The head is white with brown oral tentacles and rhinophores. The back is covered in grey bubbly looking cerata with orange and blue colouration

Here is another type of Aeolid #Nudibranch - this is Phidiana militaris and is another slug that preys on hydroids. Has been recorded as having carried out Lessepsian migration through the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean where it is considered an alien species. #Nudivember #MarineLife

This is a photo of a sea slug with a white body. It has thick oral tentacles either side of its head with an orange line running from their tip all along the side of the body. The back is covered in hair like cerata that are multicoloured in white, orange, yellow and blue tinges. It is sat on a red sponge.

Here is our fourth #Nudibranch of the day - an undescribed Eubranchus from the UAE. These ones are tiny - about 4mm across and look like a little bit of fluff. Sometimes your eye is in and you can spot these - but I expect the majority of divers would miss these , even if pointed out. #Nudivember

A photograph of a tony sea slugs rhinophore that is pale cream in colour and has small brown spots across its cerata.

Tidepooling last night was really fun, especially exploring with the UV light @jensseattle.bsky.social brought along. Here’s a couple of the creature that glowed side by side with the white light versions. Featuring: Moon Glow Anemone Aggregating Anemone w/ Shaggy nudibranchs 🦑🐙🌿

Moon glow anemone under white light looking all green and chill

Moon glow anemone under UV just glowing magnificently blue in the dark

Shaggy mouse nudibranchs eating an aggregating anemone in white light

The same scene in UV with the nudibranchs glowing different pale shades of blue and the anemone lighting up red as well as the barnacles

So the other day I posted a close up of a rhinophore so today we have a close up of the branchial plume. The word #Nudibranch essentially means “Naked Gill” and this is what it looks like close up. What you can’t see is the anal opening smack bang in the centre of the plumes. #Nudivember #MarineLife

A photograph of the branchial structure that allows sea slugs to absorb oxygen from the water. This one is bright orange and has a delicate feather like structure.
