One of the best demos I’ve played this year. I hit a skeleton with a sword and it barely did anything, but beating it with a club was effective, and so I know the devs are good and virtuous souls. Absolutely grabbing this one at launch.

Atlus keeps remastering/remaking their old SMT games, and I'm worried they're gonna remake Persona 1 and 2 sooner than later, but update them to be in-line with the P5 Aesthetic/ gameplay alterations, which will hurt a lot. Now what they SHOULD be doing is remastering Digital Devil Saga 1/2.

Got around to playing OH!WARE today, and MAN. If you're interested in one o' them "deck" builder sorta games, heavy on strategic choices but with a load of available info (to the point where whenever I fail I run, I usually go "Oh yeah, that was because I can't count...") this game is 100% for you.

interrupting your regularly scheduled programming

The MTG card [[Octavia, Living Thesis]] hand painted to look like a print of an octopus based on the traditional fish printing method Gyokatu.

Gyokatu was a way to keep records of fisherman’s catches by brushing a fish with ink before pressing it onto paper.

This was painted with Golden Fluid Acrylics and Army Painter spray primer. After masking off the name and stats, I primed the card. Then I alternated between sanding and painting white. After that, I applied thin coats of acrylic to recreate the inked prints based on a handful of works I saw online. The red “stamp” is my initials and the black characters say elemental octopus

I remember being not even THAT much younger, maybe 5-10 years tops, and being a massive proponent of the 80 hour RPG. I still like them, but playing Grandia 2 again has solidified that the 20-35 hour RPG may just be the ultimate gift to humankind. That, and platformers you can beat in an afternoon.

I ended up not playing AW2 for 2 years, despite it being my most anticipated game, due to a combination of factors (mostly new-game-cost amplified by my PC components being out of date) but I somehow managed to avoid (almost) all spoilers for it. I’d say I’m similarly something like a 7, which I imagine is common. I’ve played 10 years of standard, scraped the very low tiers of the higher end of that format a lot. Played a bunch of limited, modern, and a bit of legacy. I’m solid on rules. Commander + Canlander are my big ones these days.

Finally got around to playing the Queen's Domain demo! Took a bit of time to get into the groove but once I figured out how leveling works/when to retreat it all clicked. Great use of varying resistances to weapons to discourage leaning on one, enemies engage differently, boss was fun. Wall meat!

I saw reactions to Goodbye Lara’s ending and thought I was gonna be in for some brutal last minute trash fire or something but it was totally fine. I liked the ending, I guess maybe a lot of people were just looking to get something out of the show that I wasn’t, because it felt optimistic to me.

I'm sorry to the 3(?) people who actually see these posts at approx 1:00 AM eastern time, but I'm in Musical-Mode(tm) I don't think I'll ever recover from The Prince of Egypt stage adaptation actually being kind of mediocre. That was one of my favourite movies as a kid.
