![The MTG card [[Octavia, Living Thesis]] hand painted to look like a print of an octopus based on the traditional fish printing method Gyokatu.
Gyokatu was a way to keep records of fisherman’s catches by brushing a fish with ink before pressing it onto paper.
This was painted with Golden Fluid Acrylics and Army Painter spray primer. After masking off the name and stats, I primed the card. Then I alternated between sanding and painting white. After that, I applied thin coats of acrylic to recreate the inked prints based on a handful of works I saw online.
