Joe Root has today surpassed Alistair Cook’s record of test centuries by an English batsman. He is also 7th on the all time test runs list, I do believe that the brilliant Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 15,921 ‘may’ be under threat. Root is in the form of his life, and at 33, he has plenty of time.

V good thread on legal & constitutional obstacles to governmental reform. One option might be to create legal structures/duties for specific topics (housing, community cohesion, climate) - a legally constituted ministerial board, statutory duties for ministers to cooperate with one another

Good thread. I think (as you'd expect) that a place-based accountability system could help to resolve a lot of the challenges. But designing how it would work and moving from here to there is much easier said than done.
