came home from work & learned my kid offered Julian Downstairs' mom who is visiting from idk where a bouquet of my zinnias so I have now cut them back twice in as many days & they STILL AREN'T QUITTING I love them so much. also, I was gifted some micro pruning shears & they have changed everything

crashed my bike on mile 9 of 14 mile ride bc it's so windy on the peninsula rn that a bunch of sand drifted up on the trail & I didn't see. pretty gnarly deep end of season scrapes on my elbow & knee but they're just flesh wounds. wire wrapped a pair of chicken feet to keep the toes extended for my ridiculous experimental art project. now, they're left to dry in the sunshine with a second pair drying as is. chicken claws look like the are the inspiration for Halloweenie witch fingers I'm *fascinated* with them

I left the vegetables mostly to themselves in the back yard this week & this morning, discovered that an interloper of a digging sort has tunneled under the fence. so not I know the tomato thief is a TUNNELER! 🍅 but also my tomatillo plants are thriving!

a blue keg barrel in the back yard filled with 3 tomatillo plants and a bunch of yellow and orange French petite marigolds. there are lots of blossoms on the tomatillo and even a couple fruits coming in. in the background, there are red runner beans growing on the chain link fence.

the spider found out about Pollinator City in the front flowerbed & also now I absolutely will not be going into that bed.. it belongs to the spider now.
