If a black woman is being actively harmed and you dont speak up publicly incase it affects your carer you are not anti-racist or an ally If you benefit from the hard work of black women then cast them aside with nice words or a pat on the back your not a colleague your a coloniser

I refuse to wait years for a decision that is delayed partly due to the parties decision to not invest in staff, training or tech systems. Despite years of me working with others to write them the party still has no Racism. Misogyny or abelism guidance.

Over the last few months I have tried to carry on as normal, trust that the parties complaints system and let natural justice happen. It is clear that due to disorganisation and egos of those currently chairing the disaplinary system that is not going to happen.

The green party was a organisation I truly believed in however recently I experienced racist , abelist and sexist discrimination from my local party that severely damaged my career, public image and mental health

Highlights of my time in the party include chairing the first ever Feminist Greens AGM and helping to plan the only ever Green Party Stall at Black Pride. I helped support more green women than ever get elected this may and shared genuine joys in their wins.

At times made me a unpopular voice and I experienced Gossip, doxing death threats but i continued as I believed that things would improve eventually. I was also a listening ear and advocate , I supported and advised as many members as I could and am excited to see what they do in the future.

I have hard worked and sacrificed to make actual changes within the party. I was a voice for those who were often ignored and would not stay silent when I saw wrongs happening. I was unafraid to call out the Racism, misogyny and transphobia I saw happening in the party.

In the uk there are more than just 2 political parties. There are around 5-10 parties in the house of Lords. My whole point is parties on either side of the political spectrum have 0 elected black women in parliament and very few at council level yet claim to represent the people. Sure ain't my pepl

They dont even have statistics specifically on black women as all global majority women are classed the same despite the majority differences in heritage. But not sure you can class around 30 out of 650 representative?

House of commons is made up of several different political parties some are better than others at supporting and electing diverse candidates

If a political party can name all the black women it has elected or actively promoted on both hands it probably shouldn't act as smug as it does. On the left or right , we are being ignored and failed

⛔ Abuse against women and people of other marginalised gender in politics is escalating - political parties must take this seriously Sadly, the current @greenparty.org.uk leadership election is proving no exception to this and we’re already seeing signs of harmful behaviour 1.

I hope this video helps to finally bring the issue of the medieval treatment of Black women at the most vulnerable time in their lives into the spotlight. Black women have the highest cases of UK death in childbirth, & the outright racism detailed here is utterly vile. www.itv.com/watch/news/h...

We have re-introduced #EllasLaw to Parliament. This Bill is about the right to breathe clean air, and the right to grow up and grow old without potentially lethal harm being done to our lungs, hearts and brains by preventable air pollution. It is also about a little girl. This is Ella's story 👇

Friendly reminder that the committee is made up of people with disabilities, caring responsibilities and other complex life issues. I will be supporting a candidate who makes the extra effort to reach out to liberation groups. Not a candidate that tries to publicly shame them.

There used to be three beautiful trees in this spot. The Council has granted permission for them to be cut down and tiny homes (not social) to be built instead. This isn't helping fix croydons housing crisus but is helping to make our dirty air crisis even worse 😡

We stand in solidarity with the Muslim community following the attacks on two mosques in South London. #neverforget #antifacism #peace #solidarity #allyship #0NELondon #muslimcommunity
STATEMENT ON RECENT ISLAMOPHOBIC ATTACKS ON THE SOUTH LONDON MUSLIM COMMUNITY
The Green Party stands in solidarity with the Muslim community, after the recent defacement of two mosques in South London. Fuelled by dangerous propaganda and acts of incitement by Elon Musk and UK far right figures, such hate filled vandalism has no place on our streets.
Prejudicial fake news retweets have predictably inspired Anti-Muslim graffiti. Foreign billionaires care little for the person who did the graffiti, or the community that they came from. But they do understand how profitable creating chaos in other countries can be. The rise of social media and its algorithms, completely shorn of checks and verifications, is super charging the radicalisation process and is a fundamental risk to our democracy which relies on judgement of informed voters.
These events have been building over time as politicians such as Nigel Farage, Robert Jenrick and Suella Braverman have deliberately and repeatedly targeted the Muslim community by using hateful rhetoric which resulted in a series of far-right riots across the UK in July and August of 2024.
As Londoners we will always reject this division.
We are proud of how Londoners stood in solidarity against the far-right riots in the summer. Our diversity is our strength and we will always stand TOGETHER AS ONE.
