Usually, I'm a "pantser" writer, which generally works well for me. However, I've been trying an exercise in writing in which I did a complete outline and tried to "pants" the details of each chapter, and I have to admit, it's been a hideous struggle. I did not expect this. It's wild.

Another Monday. 😐 I have too many different threads, and I can't decide which to follow going forward - it's kind of paralyzing my writing process. I've already dumped a couple, even though I liked them, because they didn't seem to have enough "punchiness" at this point in the story.

I had a weird situation where I decided I liked a secondary character in a novel far greater than the original main character. It took me the better part of the day to swap things around (I was about ~25k words or so in). I hadn't had that little wrinkle happen before, but I trusted my instinct. 🤔

I finally caught up on "What We Do in the Shadows'" latest season, and honestly, the "Come Out and Play" episode is one of the most hilarious I've seen from that show. Most of the episodes are pretty good, too. Honestly, it's so sad this is their last season. This show is too, too good.

While Finding Forrester is not exactly a popular movie, it was wildly influential to me when I first saw it. I genuinely connected with Rob Brown's "Jamal" because of my circumstances at that age (I was young!). Additionally, the mantra of "just write" used in the movie changed me for the better.

I've always been interested in creating stories & world-building. When I was younger, I used to walk around stores for hours just looking, even at gaming books, to see how others built their fantastic worlds. It might be the thing I miss the most about moving to digital.
