My neighborhood is in the news for a horrible reason. But at the protests and vigils today, I saw humanity at its best. People constantly distributing hand warmers in the subzero temps. People opening their homes and businesses. People setting out tables with supplies. People caring for each other.

A4 (4/5) Formatting: Comics tend to emphasize words and phrases much more often than prose does (commonly with bold italics). Punctuation following bold italic text is usually bold italic even if it’s not “part of” the emphasized word or phrase. #ACESChat

A4 (2/5) Capitalization: The capital letter I usually gets special treatment in comics. An I with crossbars on the top and bottom is only used for the pronoun and a few other limited cases (like Roman numerals or proper nouns at some publishers). Otherwise, it’s a plain line (slash I). #ACESChat

Crossbar I: Usually: personal pronoun (I, I’d, I’ve, etc.). Sometimes: Roman numerals, proper nouns, first word in a sentence.

The sentence “I am inevitable” is written in all caps. The first I is a crossbar I; the others use the slash I.
