Today marks the third anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. What's happened since? A record number of women have been prosecuted. Pregnancy loss is now considered extremely suspicious, even when it has nothing to do with abortion.

They were targeted for substance use, miscarriages, and stillbirths, largely driven by fetal personhood laws.

Welcome to America, where protesting illegal kidnappings without due process is an insurrection, but attacking the nation’s Capitol is not.

Ever wonder why Medieval art is so weird? I wrote a blog post about it for the College Book Arts Association. Read it at: www.collegebookart.org/bookarttheory/

Here’s a preview of the first issue of Imagining Disaster. This project will fold together memoir and history to explore how ideas of disaster have evolved in the popular imagination over the last 500 years. It’s a great time to subscribe to the postal constituent if you want to follow along!

It’s good to be reminded that Native Americans were not considered people in the eyes of U.S. law until 1879. Ishata Theumba served as an interpreter in the Standing Bear vs Crook case which changed this. She was also a writer and lecturer who travelled the world to advocate for indigenous people.

I’m in Vermont for the Non-fiction Comics Fest and a class visit at UVM. And so I drew Clarina Irene Howard Nichols. I dropped the Howard in the illustration because she had a bad go on her first marriage. Her husband tried to steal her children. No need to keep that Howard. More in comments.

Made this starter pack because I've been having a hard time finding cartoonists on here and an easy time finding historians because of these starter packs! Let me know who to add! Or if you know of other starter packs like this let me know that too. go.bsky.app/Kr4aR1U
