Please read in full. On ICE’s reported cessation of immigration enforcement related vehicle stops, media literacy, critical analysis, and the political / linguistic manipulation that masks the enormity of the fascist threat facing us all
No, ICE absolutely did NOT order “an immediate end to vehicle stops” for immigration enforcement.

Too many of you are prematurely celebrating an alleged victory, instead of recognizing the smoke and mirrors obfuscation campaign.

Go reread those primary sources, people.

ICE is “pausing” (eg, temporarily suspending) “most” (eg, not all) vehicle stops “for immigration enforcement” (this is not, in fact, ICE’s only operational area; the agency is an arm of umbrella department Homeland Security, as is CBP, and that ‘national security’ remit is why they have tactical / special ops / etc).

Translation (all we know for sure):
— ICE agents who are working the immigration enforcement beat won’t do as many vehicle stops for a while.

Reading Between The Lines (just a few highlights of the many, many things we don’t know):
— what vehicle stops are ICE agents doing immigration enforcement allowed to make?
— what vehicle stops are ICE agents doing immigration enforcement NOT allowed to make?
— can ICE agents still make vehicle stops if they are NOT directly involved in immigration enforcement?
— what about other duties related to (the stated purpose of, anyway) narcotrafficking / nat sec / counterterrorism / espionage surveillance / human trafficking (etc)?
— will CBP agents also have to follow this new ICE guideline? If so, which ones?
— how long will this pause last?
— who makes the call on restarting those stops and why?
— who decides which stops are ok and which stops fall under the “most” category? how? why? is the public allowed to know?
— who checks to make sure a stop some agent made was still allowed?
— what happens to prevent an agent who made one not-ok stop from doing it again?

The widespread journalistic lack of concern for precise and accurate language (in general, but ESPECIALLY) about DHS, ICE, and CBP is horrifying.

Words matter.
Critical thinking matters.
Media literacy matters.

You cannot win a war against an opponent that you do not und…No, ICE absolutely did NOT order “an immediate end to vehicle stops” for immigration enforcement.

Once we’d picked our hearts off the floor, we started digging: Bella had minimal online presence, first appearing in May 2025. Since then, she’d accumulated a remarkable publication record (we counted 15 published stories in 12 months), across name publishers and small or community-minded outlets, including several paying SFWA rates (like us).

This is from Tidal's new AI policy going into effect July 15th. It's not an outright ban, but clearly labeling AI generated stuff and shutting off its ability to generate revenue is a great approach. Plagiarists are less likely to pollute a platform if there isn't any monetary gain.
Screen shot of Tidal's new AI policy that reads:

Here are the highlights of our new AI policy, which goes into effect on July 15:

Tidal will identify and tag AI-generated music in our app. Listeners will see an “AI” badge next to music we detect as wholly AI-generated.

Tidal will not tolerate AI-generated music that impersonates an artist or group, or that facilitates fraudulent activity. We’re implementing automatic tools to remove these releases immediately and on an ongoing basis.

Tidal will not allow music that is 100% AI-generated to be monetized. No royalties will go to such releases, nor will AI-generated uploads be eligible for direct-to-fan sales.

We will update Tidal’s AI policy as the technology continues to evolve.

It’s important to understand that the Court is now just an arm of the oligarchy. This decision strips the people of the right to limit the role of money in politics. It gives billionaires special rights to buy our elections. A precondition of oligarchy.

The thing you need to understand is that there are 2 (TWO) different method for amending the constitution 1) The process laid out in the constititon itself (conventions, or 2/3's of both houses followed by 3/4 of states ratifying) OR 2) find five votes on the Supreme Court.
