The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.

Agree that it was a great show. Front sitters weren't particularly affected in our one though. So maybe depends

Now a sensible man, by and by a fool, and presently a beast.
two panels. top: nelson looking at a note someone passed him in class. "guess who's already dead."

bottom: nelson turns to see a framed photo of barney holding a dying rose, from his short film pukahontas.

@squidgerugby.bsky.social any chance of a video explaining how on earth the new wxv format works? Keep finding the same info everywhere and none of it explains why Scotland will play Canada, Nz, then Australia 3 times.

I worry LLMs are gonna remove human moments. Speaking to a tourist I asked where they were going on their Highland trip. They told me and I said "Oh that's pretty much the trip I'd suggest!" Their response: "ChatGpt told me!" No connection there.

Was walking past this building and through the window saw this backrooms-ass room, so I accidentally took the coolest picture ever due to the window's reflection
A backrooms-ass room with a twilight sky and trees seemingly imposed over it in a dream-like fashion (it's the reflection of the window)

The 3 friends who I took along all loved the show last night, the Queenslander especially. Having seen almost every show you've done, I can say it was another triumph. Hope the final few days go well!

Choosing to “keep politics out of sports” is a luxury only male athletes have (and not even all of them). For women, getting paid to play a sport is still a political act in and of itself.

Medusa but her hair is an anaconda
Medusa with a single anaconda for hair. She wears a grey chiton and stubbornly strides to the left, dragging the heavy snake, which trails sullenly along behindMedusa with a single anaconda for hair. When I was studying Scottish history it was clear that historians of medieval Scotland liked Rob Roy but hated Braveheart, while those studying Early Modern Scotland were the opposite. So, this tracks.

Well I guess Rwanda joined recently, so not all have those euphemistic historic ties. That said, their joining was more due to their "historic ties" to France than anything else.

Most folk know the daily footsteps Edinburgh's Calton Hill experiences but d'you realise how dry it is with so little rain - parched & very worn grass. From a mile away I caught dust swirling around the National Monument & a low sun casting shadows for a surreal vision #Edinburgh

Given they talk about future tram use, did they use the time the bridge was shut to future proof the bridge so tram infrastructure can be put in place quickly?

Fascinating discussion but if we look at land predators today don't all the big ones eat mostly herbivores? Are lions not top predators? What's the benefit in the term if it's only going to apply to smaller predators (an eagle eating foxes) or things in the sea?

In Scottish history, you see similar tropes of Highlanders being described by "civilised" English-speaking academics as wild and with big penises coming to ravage women.

Aren't the two competing forces of grammatical language change laziness and exaggeration? Would account for many dropped auxiliaries and putting some in when in other contexts, no?
