I drew daily for 4 years. I had set a goal for myself that I had to make a daily drawing to dedicated sketchbooks. I mean yeah it helped a bit but it also gave me terrible anxiety if I missed a day or when I didn't have motivation to draw. Just draw whenever, give your brain time to cook up ideas

I'm so angry when I talk with people who are so defeatist about generative AI (in art) and say stuff like "it's here to stay, you need to adapt and learn" or "it's just a tool". No, sorry. I want to keep my brain working. Yes, I lose all interest in a song or a drawing if it's AI.

When I mentioned to my mother I was drawing more again, all she cared about was whether or not I had sold anything recently 🥲 and the rest of my family barely acknowledges I draw at all :') But I have some wonderful friends that care and support/enable me and I deeply appreciate them 💙

And from someone who has an RSI from drawing: loosen that death grip!!! you can get those foam grip eggs or a roll of self adhesive bandage wrap stuff and wrap it around your tools so they're fat. Wider grip = far less strain on your wrists
