i’m an album girly playlists are cool but listening to an entire album in order, the way the artist intended? that’s where it’s at for me personally

This sums it up perfectly. It’s not a conversation.

“There is no ethical way to use the major AI image generators. All of them are trained on stolen images, and all of them are built for the purpose of deskilling, disempowering and replacing real human artists.”

Congresswoman, I have met McBride, spoken to her several times and she is a wonderful person. That said, a lot in my community are concerned that moderate dems view what she did as a "reasonable compromise." We've already seen some indicate it (Buttigieg, who I also respect and have spoken with)

As for the artworks, I can't really agree that the cultural context reference trans femininity at all, the sentiment to apply it there is still appreciated. I do however think you should be wary about applying "tradition" to ancient greco-roman art because it's found in nazi ideology frequently

my biggest flex as an artist is I can draw a semi-believable horse from memory

illustration of two horses against a gray background. Both are blue in tone and focus on value variation, with subtle shifts in hue. The pen lines are quick and loose, with just enough detail to give the impression of a horse without delving into photo-realism. The horse on the left is a simple study of the bust, looking down towards the camera. The second is a full body drawing of the horse standing in a neutral position, hind right leg raised slightly and the impression of the tail lifting as if to swat a fly. The colours almost make the horses look like crystal statues.

Do you know the Nazi bar story? A lot of hard work goes into making sure this place doesn’t become the next Nazi bar.

Michael B. Tager has left the... • 7/8/20 ...
I was at a shitty crustpunk bar once getting an after-work beer. One of those shitholes where the bartenders clearly hate you. So the bartender and I were ignoring one another when someone sits next to me and he immediately says, "no. get out."

Michael B. Tager has left the... • 7/8/20 ••• And the dude next to me says, "hey i'm not doing anything, i'm a paying customer." and the bartender reaches under the counter for a bat or something and says,
"out. now." and the dude leaves, kind of yelling. And he was dressed in a punk uniform, I noticed

Anyway, l asked what that was about and the bartender was like, "you didn't see his vest but it was all nazi shit. Iron crosses and stuff. You get to recognize them."
And i was like, ohok and he continues.

"you have to nip it in the bud immediately.
These guys come in and it's always a nice, polite one. And you serve them because you don't want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after awhile they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too.

Michael B. Tager has left the... • 7/8/20 ..
And then THEY bring friends and the friends bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh shit, this is a Nazi bar now. And it's too late because they're entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down.

Michael B. Tager has left the...
@lamRageSparkle

And i was like, 'oh damn.' and he said "yeah, you have to ignore their reasonable arguments because their end goal is to be terrible, awful people."
And then he went back to ignoring me. But I haven't forgotten that at all.

It reminds me of that bit in the opening of hitchhikers guide where humans think they're the smartest organisms on earth because they created digital watches and capitalism while the dolphins just jumped around all day and played when in truth dolphins were smarter for NOT caring about such things

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.
