This will never stop blowing my mind. A 12-year sequence of real telescope images of a star 133 lightyears away. And around it, four planets slowly orbiting. Four real exoplanets, each more massive than Jupiter, imaged as they move around their host star.

I've been wanting to make this for ages... finally got around to finishing it. Here's my family tree of French sauces! Are you hungry yet? #infographic #dataviz #cooking #sauces #foodinfographic
Family tree of French sauces. A diagram in which lines run from basic ingredients on the left, through intermediate preparations like roux and mirepoix, to the five mother sauces in a central column (hollandaise, béchamel, velouté, espagnole and tomato sauce) and then on to their derivative sauces on the right. The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.

Sometimes I really… Really would like to get the reciprocal of the current situation in the world 🫩
A two-panel math meme comparing a function and its inverse using the "This is Fine" dog.

Top panel: On the left, the text reads "f(x)". On the right, the original "This is Fine" comic shows a dog sitting at a table with a mug while the room is engulfed in flames. The dog says, "This is fine."

Bottom panel: On the left, the text reads "f to the power of negative 1 of x", representing the inverse function. On the right, the roles are reversed: a character made of fire sits at the table saying "This is fine," while the room is filled with many small dogs instead of flames.
